Mourhino is on his way to City.....

If Jose has agreed to return to Chelsea, then it could be very significant in terms of our next manager.

Ladies and gentleman, I give you señor Pellegrini.

He was approached by Chelsea very recently, before Simeone.

It now fits the timeline of the approach and the leak out of Chile that Pellegrini has an agreement of some sort with City.

Pellegrini has told Chelsea to fuck off.

Boom, Ari Gold style.

Rusty Cnut buckets unite.

And you'd be happy with him then ?

less of a pedigree than Mancini and has done nothing to suggest he can manage in England or win trophies anywhere.

I agree, and won't pretend to know a lot about him, other than his reputation for an attacking style of play.

I did post the other day when Simeone signed a new deal that I thought we could end up with Pellegrini by some perceived default.

There is a little merry-go-round of talks which have been ongoing between the same managers, confined to two or three clubs.

Regardless of what others may think, Pellegrini smacks of Begiristain should he rock up here.

I really do trust the guy to know his onions and the right appointments to take us in the direction they want.

Appointing Pellegrini instead of Mourinho would be like signing Demba Ba instead of Messi, regardless of whether Pellegrini suits the DoF model more. His style of football would be more entertaining than Mancini's but I can't see any real upgrade except slight improvement in Europe, and there's no real telling if he'd be able to match Mancini's Premier League win %.

yeah I'd love to have a CL campaign where we try and sneak through on the Away goals rule all the time.

Not to mention that he hasn't managed to turn either Villarreal or Malaga into solidly the 3rd best team in Spain with little competition and not an insignificant talent pool and investment each time.

Can pellegrini speak good English?

He's hardly the big name we instinctively want but it's his ability that counts.

If its us who have rejected Jose in favour of him then he'd better be fucking good.

I do not believe that Txiki is infallible and I think sacking Mancini to replace him with Pellegrini would be a major error of judgment.

There was a big gamble on him couple of weeks ago about coming here
33/1-6/4

Now he's back on the drift out to 14/1

Most probably due to the leak in the Chilean press.

If it had come out of England, Italy, even Spain, would treat with plenty of suspicion.

But someone let the cat out of the bag back in South America and have absolutely no reason to think it did not have some semblance of truth about him accepting an offer in principle.

He certainly wasn't happy when someone brought it up at his next presser.

Pellegrini's people have been quite vocal since January about approaches, most notably from Roma.

How ironic if Mancini ends up at Roma.
