Mourhino is on his way to City.....

Mourinho states that his players failed to take control of the game, underperformed and were second best, and it shows humility and honesty.
Mancini does the same and he is crucified by the 'outers' for blaming the players and not accepting responsibility.
As job interviews go,I think Jose's post-match performance was most impressive,as short of brandishing his CV attached to a sandwich board with flashing lights directly in front of the rag director's box he really couldn't have done much more.

Fair enough. You could have saved about 300 pages of debate if you'd joined one of the earlier threads Gary ;)

But I did - around 2 years ago! It'll start again if we pass the summer and neither Manc side has changed manager.

What I will say is that things change, but nothing Mourinho has said or done looks like he'll be joining City - or that City would want him. Anyway, let's trust Mancini. This season could still be our best ever but if it's not its already our best title defence and one of our most consistent League seasons (yeah, I know... but our judgement is often clouded by who is top).

Probably already been said but was shamelessly whoring himself to the rags last night.
Judging by his nauseatingly sycophantic behaviour towards them last night, the man invented several new Kama Sutra poses as he shamelessly contorted himself to beg for the job with the Rags.

The man has no dignity, and City should have nothing to do with him.

Exactly.

Loving Mr James' work this morning too; top notch sir. I hope the powers that be keep Moo away from our club.

Because he was rejected in 2009
Are you willing/able to go into more detail about it?

This is what I said earlier in the thread and I also wrote about this a couple of years ago on BM:

Gary James said:
I'm certain he wants to manage Utd. I was told quite clearly early in 2010 that City could have had him as manager in 2009 but his comments proved it would be a stepping stone (City chose Mancini and rejected Mourinho partly because of this) - best to stay away from him and let him get on with his own career plan.

All came out of interviews I did with various senior officials at the time - we talked about all the managers considered at time of Mancini appointment and it came out loud and clear. Mancini was the man who had a vision and wanted to be here because he could achieve something here - he had a long term vision. Others (and I've got this on tape but obviously it's from City's perspective not from any potential manager so may of course be total rubblish) did not see City as an opportunity in the same way - more a stepping stone to their real ambition. Understandably any team wants a manager who wants that job above all others and commits longer term.

EDIT: We specifically discussed Mourinho in Jan 2010. The interviews were with very senior MCFC officials. I did talk about this on BM in a thread when people were claiming Mourinho was coming some time ago. It was all going to appear in my book "The Journey" (which may never appear now sadly). This is part of a quote that was going in: "There had also been discussions with other prominent managers. One wanted to take more of a football director role while another wanted an extravagant salary and gave the impression he would only be here for a short period. We didn’t want either of those situations. We wanted someone who would commit and who would be a true coach, manager, call it what you will.”

Thank's for the comment, it gives another view

Maybe some of you are right and his comments were an interview, but maybe not for the job you think. Maybe he was showing a certain D.O.F.and C.E.O. that he can be repectful of oponents and humble in victory, a requirement put in place by the mentioned two for a job not too far way.
Maybe!!!

Maybe, but doubtful imho. You could almost hear him gagging on Glazer's gland whilst he simultaneously gave Gill the reach around.

Bullseye. Speaking as someone who would like to see Mourinho here in the summer, I was hugely encouraged by his comments last night. Dignity and humility in victory, exactly the type of qualities some people at City may feel he lacks.
