Moving to Australia

Germany probably has more going for it than Australia. Scandinavian countries are also very pleasant.

Been fortunate enough to live and work in both Scandinavia and Australia and the difference between them tends to boil down to how much you like the sun, how much you want to be in Europe and how you cope with the difference in language.

I loved Scandinavia, they're very socially conscious and have a great welfare system which copes so well because of the relatively small populations in the respective countries.

Australia at the time had a booming economy compared to England and it was nice to make some quick cash and travel around. Had some of the best times of my life there, whenever I see reference to Perth it always makes me daydream about living back over there.

I'm back in England now though and things are good so I'm pretty happy here. Because having the sun can be so rare, when it does shine I stand by the fact that I think this is the best place on Earth to be. It's just the other 364 days of the year you need to get through!

I bloody love Australia. Been three times on hols. Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Cairns. Just love it. Australians just seem to have the lifestyle nailed - lots to do with weather no doubt but also seemed to me lots to do with a positive attitude. You can get false impressions when you are on hols so maybe I'm wrong. Have the view of Sydney harbour bridge and opera house as my screen saver for the last 7 years - stunning! Wish I had moved there when I was in my 20's.

It's never too late mate. My mum is now 82 moved over here 10 years ago and absolutely loves it.
It was a big move for a 72 year old but I'm convinced it has added 'years' onto her life.
Go for it.
