I also understand about the BBC being blamed for everything. I blame them for their treatment of THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD but not everything else. :-)

Made my blood boil too. There HAS to be some accountability and the people within Fujitsu and the Post Office who covered this up need to be prosecuted (and bonuses etc recovered) not just have 'honours' removed. I was brought up to believe crime doesn't pay but unfortunately it does these days. Saying sorry and keeping the money just doesn't cut it.

People have committed suicide over this. For me, anyone who was involved in this deserves to go down for a fucking long time. 20 years minimum if not more. Whether it's possible to bring charges of a serious enough nature that carry such a long sentence I've no idea but they should be given the maximum punishment for whatever crimes they're (hopefully) convicted of.

Royal Mail had nothing to do with it!

There will have inevitably been some SP’s at it, and some potentially exploiting the situation, but they were stealing from thieves themselves, and it’s too unwieldy to unravel at this stage, so the wider interests of justice are best met by expeditiously declaring all the convictions unsafe.

Seems like the most just outcome in the circumstances.

As with any walks of life there will always be a few bad eggs. Surprisingly they actually caught a couple of people actually stealing. So they prosecuted them. Along with the other 800 non stealers.

Totally agree but cannot see the Government initiating this. Hopefully the SPs and their families have the appetite and financial backing to undertake this

Mrs J and myself binged watched the four episodes last night. Well done ITV for compulsive viewing and firmly putting this scandal in focus.
Toby Jones and Julie Hesmondhalgh were brilliant too.
Everyone is rightly scathing of the PO execs for their inhumane handling of the situation.
Fujitsu will , I hope get the same focus. No doubt paid a fortune to develop this new system with the mantra to absolutely maximise profit and produce on a shoestring.
It is impossible to think it was robustly tested at all (costs money you see) and pretend to use an agile process when the truth was blame the PO staff.
Yet another in a long line of Emperors new clothes with the elite.

Initial rollout of Horizon was 2000 updated in 2010 to HNG-X both legacy and updated system had issues.
