Mr Clattenburg / The FA {merged}

He has previous re Adebayor and Van Persil. He lied then.

Of course and that time he lied that he didn't see it.

All he had to do this time was say he saw a 'coming together' but has since seen it on TV and would like it reviewed as he didn't see the elbow. This is exactly what happened with the Thatcher incident and would have allowed the FA to take action.

By saying he saw the incident in full (complete fabrication) then that ties the hands of the FA. This is 90% down to Clattenburg. It stinks.

the highlight vid clearly shows him following the ball and not watching the incident some 15 yards to his right hand side

The more times you see this incident the more ridiculous the final decision appears to be.
The part that infuriates me most is the cuddle Shrek got from Clattenburg.
Fair play to Brazil(talksport) as well as sky to a lesser degree banging on about it.
The Scum should take some internal action and drop him for 2 games.
We cannot let this drop and really need to take this as far as we can no matter how futile.
One big collective E Mail to the FA ETC ETC

Exactly.

A lot has been said about this whole affair but in many cases the crux of the matrter has been lost.

He has not seen that incident in full, it was IMPOSSIBLE for him to do so. He may have seen a coming together of sorts but he's not seen the elbow.

Now, since the game Clattenburg has either refused to watch the video as he has arrogantly insisted he got it spot on OR he has watched the video, seen the elbow, and decided that it was not worthy of a yellow or a red and he took the "appropriate action".

Either way, his conduct is worthy of investigation.

Here's an article from The Independent about Ade

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/wenger-fury-at-adebayor-and-hughes-over-stamp-1787874.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 87874.html</a>

This is an interesting comment from Wenger that has absloutely no application to Rooney:

"He deserved to be charged. When I saw it on video I was shocked. I think it was a very bad challenge, surprisingly bad. With human beings you can never rule anything out, good or bad, but I didn't expect him to do that. When you go to the head, you are always scared for people. You never know how it will affect their health."

and

[When asked if he had any doubt that there was malice intended, the Arsenal manager said:] "Well, why do you think the FA charged him? I've watched football for 20 years, I played football, and I know when you have mastered your body's movements, in a fraction of a second you can injure somebody, or not injure somebody, and you ease off or you leave in.

"In England, you have many cases where the players leave in, less now than 10 years ago. Then, there were challenges where if you did that in the street you would go to jail."

Rooney, who has so "mastered" his "body's movements" that he can overhead shin one in, clearly suffers from "demon elbow" and needs an exorcist. Obviously Rooney had no idea what his arm was doing.

Totally agree. The thing that I can't understand is why did he give a freekick to Wigan? If, as he reported, that it was a coming together of the 2 players then surely it would have to have been a rag freekick? The only way they could have "come together" (unless they were having sex (so I've heard), the Wigan player has certainly been fucked on this occasion) is by the Wigan player stepping in front of Rooney . So, his decision on the day proves that he couldn't have seen what happened. His subsequent actions question his integrity & his competence. Whatever happens, Clattenburg should never referee a game in England again.

No it doesn't. They choose to allow us to believe that. They could take action under Article 77 but that backs up the fact they are corrupt. I am very disapointed in David Bernstein. Same old same old.

The FIFA Disciplinary Code contains Article 77, item b which states the following:

"Article 77 Specific jurisdiction
The Disciplinary Committee is responsible for:
a) sanctioning serious infringements which have escaped the match
officials’ attention;
b) rectifying obvious errors in the referee’s disciplinary decisions;

You're right, but as soon as he said he saw it in full there was no way it would be taken further because of the way previous incidents have been handled.

Ridiculous as it sounds (because it is ridiculous) United could have rightly been up in arms if the FA decided to take action despite Clattenburg saying he saw the whole incident. They've created a rod for their own back.

I still lay practically all of the blame at Clattenburg's door.

its a shame we cant unite with the aston villa fans in singing,
