Mr Cook

So what? We went years and years without a derby win (often without a derby at all, unless you counted Macclesfield) and everyone feeling bittered. Bugger all we could do about it, though, because we have angry players and they had good ones. And anyway, I highly doubt the players give a stuff what Cook says.

I know the oscars are coming up and everything, but the drama queenery on here is getting to Laurence Olivier proportions. Shut up, you daft hams.

With respect, if there is anyone on this site who is a drama queen - making mountains out of molehills about the slightest comment about City that could be interpreted as not 100$ in support of every single thing they do, then that would be you.

So it's a bit rich to be accusing others of that when you are starting expletive filled threads that read like a nervous brakdown every time someone prints something that isn't "City are the best ever."

As for 'so what' about inspiring other team's players. Why do it? Would you rather play an inspired, angry and desperate for revenge team or one that is feeling fragile and unsure of themselves? If you are suggesting that there are not numerous examples throughout football history of teams being fired up to better performances by comments made by the opposition then I am suggesting that you are being disingenuous.

I am fucking tutting at you, do you hear?

Also, our players have very good reasons of their own to be fired up.

Good on ya Gary!

This man loves jumping in with both feet, and yes listening to it we can all hold our head in our hands as we wait for the ridicule at work on Monday morning after getting dumped out by Scuthorpe in true Blue style........

I choose not to do this....

I am daring to believe and enjoying being swept along on a wave of positivity. Trust me I am not blind to our recent history and left naiveity at the door on my wedding day. I am as black humoured and pessimistic as any true Blue. But why the ***k not? Best team in the world? We are already there... Take the mantle from United? It is coming... We may get beat on Wednesday, but if we do I won't be hanging my head in shame and taking Thursday off work I'll be looking forward to the next one. The tide has turned and our success will only grow despite the odd blip here and there - but that's football. And when we slip i don't give a stuff what Durham, Gough, Houghton, Green, Holt, Shearer, Lawrenson and all the other blerts have to say.

Keep shouting from the rooftops Gary. Keep raising billboards in OUR city and rattling Egos in Milan & Barcelona. After Mancini has settled in people will start to listen..

Loving it!

Cook should learn to shut the fuck up and let us do our talking on the pitch. He is as much as an embarrassment to us as that twat who ended up at Pompey.
?

Storrie?

you think boasting about our future in a bar is as embarrassing as being implicated in corruption, and presiding over a period that has left the club all but bankrupt?

"disingenuous" cor' that's a bit strong

Come on. The opposition are left feeling belittled and angry by comments like that.

I shouldn't think Wooney or Giggs will give a damn, they play to win every game funnily enough, just like they will on Wednesday.

How are the City players going to be inspired?

Ditto Tevez and Barry

Are you suggesting that they hear the man who is their 'suit' saying that they are going to be "the biggest and the best" and will beat United and are suddenly hit by an epiphany?

No I wasn't.

JohnMaddocksAxe said:
Whose opinion on such a matter do you think they store importance by and listen to? Mancini or Cook?

Mancini, and its his job to motivate our players enough to draw or beat united, and he will. For one thing united have a "bigger" game next week than our semi-final, one they cannot afford to lose, and between the two I'm pretty sure I know which one sour alex will have his eyes on more.

Stop fearing the worst based on a few utterings of a man in a suit, City has changed considerably, and the mindset of some of its followers needs to adjust to the new City.

Let the team do the talking. Cook's ego is bigger than Ben Hur. We need a CE in the background providing everything the manager needs to make the club a success on the pitch. Not an upfront geezer who likes the cameras.

Moses I think you mean

I do wish he would be quiet it is leaving him and us a bit vulnerable to ridicule as if we haven't had enough over the years
there is a time and place and IMHO it isn't now

I don't believe the Arsenal game should be the bigger game but I can see how deluded rags might think so. Personally, I'd be very surprised if the rags can sustain a decent title challenge They haven't got the squad and anyway, they are twatzoids.
