I've spoken to a lot of 'knowledgeable' blues about what they think of Cook and the response i get is that this guy pretty much goes against everything we stand for. We have all the riches in the world but still remain humble and close to our working class routes, and rightly so, we should be proud of that.

Yet some want Kenyon !!

Everything we stand for? So what is it that we stand for then?

Gary Cook reminds me of the little kid whose best mate is the toughest kid in school, in his gobbing off and his tall tales creating a rod for his teams back. Im sure all of us wouldnt want to be labeled as the new chelsea or hated as much as united, in which could well happen.

If i were a fan of another team, i would possibly be thinking, How did someone who knows so little about football get such a lucrative job.

I haven't really been one of the Cook detractors on here, but I do wish he would keep his mouth shut! He is clearly a talented man to which his career with Nike would allude, but he seems to have no idea about football fans. This is exactly the kind of comment that annoys fans from our club and others alike.

I just feel that he disappears for a few months and then all of a sudden opens his trap and makes a howler everytime.

I don't like to criticise City but at the end of the day, this is a forum for debate.

I totally agree with this.
There is a distinct difference between a positive mental attitude and the American attitude which Cook seems to have picked up.
You might be the best looking, richest and cleverest bloke in town but you don't go round telling everyone.
Unless of course you want to p*ss everyone off.

But we've been going around saying this for months and months. It's not a new thing.

Well perhaps we need to stop.
I am hoping that Mancini is successful enough that he can impress his class on the club right across the board.
He seems to have a knack of saying the right thing in his 2nd language. Cook struggles with his native tongue!

I shouldn't think Wooney or Giggs will give a damn, they play to win every game funnily enough, just like they will on Wednesday.

Ditto Tevez and Barry

No I wasn't.

Mancini, and its his job to motivate our players enough to draw or beat united, and he will. For one thing united have a "bigger" game next week than our semi-final, one they cannot afford to lose, and between the two I'm pretty sure I know which one sour alex will have his eyes on more.

Stop fearing the worst based on a few utterings of a man in a suit, City has changed considerably, and the mindset of some of its followers needs to adjust to the new City.

I don't believe the Arsenal game should be the bigger game but I can see how deluded rags might think so. Personally, I'd be very surprised if the rags can sustain a decent title challenge They haven't got the squad and anyway, they are twatzoids.

Have to agree about the 'twatzoids', but them twatzoids look like they are about to go top of the table this afty, so imo they are looking far from finished at the moment. And the confidance boost they will get from hitting top spot, plus their motivational team talk from Cook will see them as ready as they could be for Wednesday.

Having watched the clip again after originally seeing it at work whilst eating my dinner and cringing. I noticed after the remark on ManU he points to someone and give a friendly cheeky smile. So for me it was probably aimed at someone in the crowdwho was seen wearing a united scarf, so he was only having friendly banter and not being a foolish....Sadly SKY edited (with a big game on Sky coming on weds this may of been accidental, you can make up your own mind) this bit and now even some of the brighter posters on this forum have fallen for there clever editing tricks.

Which to be honest I find a tad more embarrasing than the Cook quote itself, saying that I do wish he'd keep quiet when there are cameras around as they will find something to edit and use.

Credit where it's due.
................................
Best thing he ever said after the Kaka story (for me) was "We're not just going to go away" simply aimed at the likes of Fergiscum, Sky and the top four brigade. More of this Mr C please and NO more filmed bar room banter/comments.
