This is pathetic - it comes from five days after the title win. Why didn't you show the headlines from the previous four days, when we ran page after page after page of praise, positivity and glory, glory stuff about City?
By this point we had said just about everything there was to be said about it, and I took a day off.
If the MEN had been so selective about something to do with City, you would accuse us of having an anti-City agenda. Does this mean you have an anti-MEN agenda?

Not only that SB,but there`s fuck all negative about the pictures and stories linked to them.
Even now NDJ is being linked to other clubs,as is Tevez, but no idea as to where you got the Balo idea from,as its the first time I`ve seen that.
As the old adage goes "don`t let the bastards grind you down" mate. ;)

The coverage when we won the title was brilliant. Souvenir editions, page after page of articles and some great pics (now on my wall at work).

Tonights MEN front page full column in colour 'Fans fury as glazers 'pocket shares cash.' And a little pic of Glazer to scare the kiddies.

In the footy pages;

Berbatov escape from reds
Plug charged over twitter jibe

And a double page colour feature on the Malaysia match written by Stuart Brennan in which he drools over Aguero's future potential.

See its not all bad.

I like the anti city stance, better to know your enemies than think their your friends! I have not bought one paper since those Herbert's on Scumday supplement did that assassination on city as a club, the most damming poisonous venomous cowardly hypocritical assault on our beloved club, that would never have been done to any other club In England, I will not buy and feed the enemy so I just get my information on here, the scribes on here are more informative witty and I love the paranoia it's just up my street! Keeps me like coiled spring ?

Mr Brennan's 'Kevin Keegan Moment - I would just love it!....'
Oh dear.

In my opnion from a local paper fair is not enough!..If you can't get positive support from your local paper where else will it come from. I don't just mean in the articles that are printed, the journo's who interact with other media people should positively promte City, regardless of their rivalry which should remain a thing to be resolved by the players on the pitch.

You talk about football success, that's nothing compared to the legacy we are building in the community. I doubt there is any other club that does half the work we do in the community with youth development work and involvement with charities. The money being invested in the training accademy is unique in this country and something for everyone in Manchester to be proud of. When City's name is mentioned in the press it's always followed with terms like "sugar daddy" and "oil money" but that's not half of the story and it's time City fans stopped accepting these negative stereotypes of the club!!The local journo's are in the best position to help change the mindset of the media.

So you are suggesting I don't write any positive articles, or challenge the national media when they write nonsense about City?
What about this:

<a class="postlink" href="http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/sport/football/manchester_city/s/1492849_comment-manchester-city-buying-glory-now-thats-rich" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... thats-rich</a>

or this:

<a class="postlink" href="http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/sport/football/manchester_city/s/1493428_stuart-brennan-manchester-city-are-stockpiling-points-and-goals---not-players" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... ot-players</a>

That is just in the last two or three months - I have written stuff like this consistently through my three years in this job.
I have also covered City's community work and academy work more than anyone else (except the official site, obviously) - in fact I am hoping to do a piece on the academy later this week.
You don't notice all the positive stuff because it doesn't fit your agenda, that the MEN is a Utd-loving, anti-City, force for evil.
What you are suggesting appears to be Soviet-style propaganda - never criticise, no matter what the club does, and always try to make out things are wonderful. That is the job of the official website, not the local paper.

Without getting into arguments about bias, why anyone would read this boring, middle of the road, populist (ie right wing) rag (no pun intended) is beyond me. The sports "journalists" whether writing about us or the Stretford team would struggle to make the cut at the Beano (a fine, well written publication that knows its audience).

How do you know if you don`t read it ?
Always intrigues me when people use that argument.

I don't read it any more but I read it for long enough to describe it in the way I did. Why would I carry on reading something I think is crap?

Stuart Brennan is okay. Despite the fact he is a red, he is a proper professional and he does the best he can in difficult circumstances.
However, the paper is now owned by the Mirror Group gangsters who have taken the shameful decision to get rid of staff, move the paper from its traditional heartland and stick it out an an industrial estate in Oldham. Poisonous asset-stripping that a broom cupboard office in Piccadilly Gardens cannot hide.
The sports editor, Spencer, is a blithering idiot and a trolling wind-up merchant. No wonder her is on TalkSport so much, he fits right into their devil's advocate mindset. Talking loud and saying nothing. I'm a KFA and yet I bet I know more about what goes on behind the scenes than him.
News reporter Mike Keegan, meanwhile, specialises in two kinds of story — the ones lifted straight from here days or weeks after the event (Bosleigh team coach, the new kit on sale in Oz), or the thick City fan whingeing about some unreasonable demand or other and demanding the moon on a stick (the twat with the broken leg, idiots with tattoos). The latter are all written from a definite anti-club viewpoint.
Stories such as the United fan with the tattoo glorifying Hillsborough, meanwhile, never, ever get a mention.
Mitten is a myopic moron who is beneath contempt. His hiring is indeed proof of Spencer's bizarre belief that controversy, antagonism, smugness and snideness are what people want to read about their club.
Where did this bull about Mitten being a 'great writer' come from?
He is an egotistical buffoon who always seems to mention himself and his self-created persona in his articles as much as the subject he is supposed to be writing about. You know the drill — Mitten is a 'top boy' who knows all the 'firms' wherever he goes, who hints that he might have run with a rum crowd in his youth but is now too worldly and mature to get involved himself. People who write this sort of infantile drivel were usually bullied for their dinner money at school.
He thinks he is a football version of Hunter S Thompson, when in fact he isn't even as good a writer as Paul Hince.
I once had the misfortune to come across a copy of his book about derbies/football rivalries and it was laughably poor. Shockingly researched and written in the style of a sixth form project. Suffice to say it went to the charity shop. I believe it is still there to this day.

Brennan's making most of you look like one-eyed, paranoid, bitter, insecure and angry football goons.

Wonder why that is?

The one thing the Men has never been is right wing. Previous owned by the gaurdian and now the Mirror. The paper has as have other papers down the pan. However since it was bought out by the mirror group its got worse not only for mcfc but also for local news. You can see this by the amount of newspapers left on the bus or not wanted when handed for free in the city centre.
A newspaper soon will be like a birthday card. A thing of the past!

I get the feeling that you consider anything other than the Morning Star and Pravda in its heyday as right wing.
