Guys i appreciate what you are saying and i agree to an extent, But my point is why should we have to scrape around for the quality stuff while disposable garbage is force fed to us on a daily basis, You can try to block it out but it's gonna get through eventualy.

Do the majority actualy like this crap?

My main issue really was about our future generations. I understand that chart music has never been brilliant but it was never this bad, There was always something there... The Beatles, New order, Blur etc... Now there is nothing in the mainstream atall... Kings of Leon? Coldplay? Not the best are they.

Kids in 10 years time will be referenceing David Guetta as the legend who's music changed their lives... It's soul destroying stuff to witness.

What a load of bollix, when the beatles and the stones were around there were still bubble gum 3 minute pops songs swamping the charts. When Bowie was around there was all the glam rock shite with Gary Glitter et al. The good stuff has always been a little under the radar. Things are no different now.

Infact, with itunes and internet downloading, people have more access to alternative or quality music than ever before. You don't have to go trawling through obscure record stores anymore.

Things are miles better now, you're just getting old and tired.

Electric Wizard, Cult of Luna, Porcupine Tree, Tim Exile, Monika Kruse, Boards of Canada, Sigur Ros, Opeth, Venetian Snares (varies between albums), Pearl Jam, and Hurts.

There's always good music out there but just like some have already said it's harder to find with the chart being watered down as it is. However you shouldn't make the mistake of looking at charts of being indicative of current music 'trends' as realistically there's thousands if not millions of bands/artists out there who never even get into the top 100. Again as mentioned find a band you already like and last.fm (combined with youtube) is your friend.
