My Swindon Away Story - 1996

Talking of Nick Leeson he was in the citizens for the West Ham game.
Went to juventus v city in the europa cup many years ago , we were staying in Milan and he was on our tram , tried striking up a conversation with him but he kept denying who he was, we got off before him i turned round and said see ya Nick , he just smiled and waved back

Just looked it up and remembered it when i found it. They call it "The Magic Roundabout":

Magic Roundabout (Swindon) - Wikipedia
Nothing magical about it DD.
I remember being worried as the mini bus entered the zone, looking at other drivers ,it seemed no one had a clue what was going on.
The person who designed the thing at some Wiltshire council probably got promoted.i,m just glad I wasn't driving the City supporters club mini bus that day.
Never ,ever driven to Swindon.
Scarred for life.
God knows what Glenn Hoddle thought of the magic roundabout when he turned up in the 90s!

My son, an Oxford season ticket holder calls the A420 the road to hell ( Swindon)

A few trips to Swindon…all got a little story with them like most away trips did in those days. Mate drove down for the New Year’s Eve game got lost ended outside parking outside GCHQ not the best idea. One occasion went with the droylesden and failsworth lads coach pat got us in a club in Cheltenham that was fun. The other I ended sat next to nick leeson . One was a mini pitch invasion they did, came over to us lot got quite lively outside if I remember correctly.
The night club in Cheltenham with the Droylsden and Failsworth coaches was after the Bristol Rovers game last away game before the play offs in 99 which was a 6.30pm kick off.
I was on the Failsworth bus. Got home 6am

Milan is a fair trek from Turin. Why stay there?
