I remember getting the 105 Bus down the parkway and struggling like a good'un to roll my old hoburn ciggy up on the back seat upstairs. I had to be carefull because my grandad was the driver of the bus most of the time, and at 12/13 years old I should'nt have been puffing my head off.
I miss the bent up corrugated Iron that was the gents toilet In the block behind the kippax.
I miss running through all the dog and horse shit on the way home from games In the alley ways at night.
I miss buying a burger off one of the blokes on the mobile push burger stalls. A nice touch was always when he went for a piss In the alley then came back to serve you, and asked what you wanted on your burger or hot dog!
I miss watching and being part of the crowd swaying In the Kippax Street.
I dont miss getting piss wet through In the paddocks though! Happy days for sure.

Can anyone remember the name of the factory that used to be on the land on the Pink Entry?

I seem to remember it was an ice cream business, but i could be wrong.

I remember that, it was a Ice Cream business, remember seeing all the vans inside.

I lived on Lowethorpe Street until I was 9, I remember the gates opening for the Kippax to let the early leavers out and the copper letting me in to watch the last 10 minutes, must of only been about 7 or 8.

What I miss about Maine Road is the buzz you got when on your way to the ground you couldn't see it until you were very close. We used to park on Platt Lane near the parkway and walk through the alleys to the ground and you didn't see the ground until you hit Maine Road.

What about Helen down the front of the North Stand, always with a sprig of heather for Big Joe. (Always wondered whether he thought it would do any good...)

And never thought I'd miss that bloody bell..!

Little sh*ts were never there when you got back.

I was one of those little shits.

In 1979 (i remember it detail very clearly) a bloke with a Jag gave me 50p and said i could have another 50p at the end of the game,

We were lucky to get 10p normally so I spent the first 50p and pegged it back from the old co-op near platt fields for theend of the game.

The guy was chuffed that i was there and gave me two, yes TWO 50p pieces.

I have never felt so rich in all my life.

That bloke may never understand what a fantastic feeling he gave me by being so generous.

Cheers fella.

Hows about the sign over the main tunnel onto the Kippax?

Want it piccadilly radio 1152?

the sight of that pitch, especially under the tall floodlights, fecking awesome.

Sorry COMS its all seems bland and un-theatrical in comparison.
