Napoli attendance {merged}

Re: thanks fairweathers

After finally managing to get a ticket sorted from a friend of a friend late Tuesday night i managed to get myself a bloody migraine all day Wednesday...when i found out i was getting his ticket because he couldn't afford it i offered to get him one too, which he duly obliged (and i've not had a job in 2 years myself)...then i had to drive 40+ miles throwing up in a carrier bag on the M61.....does this make me 'doubly' fairweathered??

great night tho and just glad i was their to witness it...really can't see what there is to moan about, tho 3 points would have been preferable.

It was thanks to the "fair weather" fans that we got such a good crowd. There were more fair weather fans there last night than there were seasoncard holders and that's great to see. For years we've had a loyal 25k who turn up come what may, but there are signs now that City are winning back some of the support they lost, and winning new fans

I remember the days when you could sit down on the Kippax terrace and watch the game

The above, not only were these so called fairweather fans watching the game but they were spending their money in the store. I for one welcome these new fans for two reasons. 1st the income they will generate and 2nd it will put pressure on blues to book their seats early.

Re: thanks fairweathers

I wish people would fuck off with this fairweather bullshit.

I couldn't go last night, GF's birthday. But the same day I dropped £65 on the new home shirt and printing for me to wear for when I play 5 a side.

£25 - Ticket
£10 - Food

Or £65 on a shirt.

I know what the club appreciate more in the long run.

Re: thanks fairweathers

I just don't believe the attendance figures at City (or at least think they have a creative way of reporting crowds).

There was a huge amount of seats free in the upper tier of the Colin Bell and plenty more dotted around the ground.

And I don't believe the story about them being season ticket holders who can't make it (or in this case, cup scheme people) because I don't believe that that many people don't turn up on their season ticket and don't give it to someone else.

No-one has ever been able to explain to me why this phenomenom didn't happen at Maine Road and my suspicsion is that it didn't happen because a season ticket not being used is quite a rare event. Certainly a lot rarer than 5% or more of the crowd being subject to it, which is what it often seems like to me when looking round the ground and comparing it to the official figures.

I don't give a fuck about what rags think or being able to brag about who gets what crowd. It's all kid's stuff.

Looking round last night though, if someone wants to tell me that there was only 1,000 empty seats around the ground, excluding the front rows which don't count, they have either been drinking or had a much different view to me.

And if the big spaces at the top of the Colin Bell were down to cup scheme people not making it, what a coincidence that they all should have been sat near to each other.

Re: thanks fairweathers

I'm not shitting anyone ,I don't actually know a rag that goes to matches regularly. The ones I know go 2-3 times a year seriously.

Re: 28k (ish) for Napoli?

What people need to understand is the damage threads like this do to the club.

Talksport and Sky Sports News both picked up on the expected low attendance as it had been brought to their attention. The estimated crowd of 28,000 was so far out, it was funny.

Why do we do this? It leaves us open to criticism when the eventual crowd was a very healthy 44,000. Next time don't listen to the security guards, the staff printing the shirts or the next door neighbour, wait until the official attendance is announced.

Same goes for seat counting ....

Re: thanks fairweathers

Was on the Muen and fooking rags going on about the attendance so i posted the following about City gate 44,006 and what capacity lowered to 45,000ish and then posted Yoonited capacity 45,000ish and
29 September 1993
Manchester United 2 – 1 Kispest Honvéd Old Trafford, Manchester
Attendance: 35,718
Referee: Antonio López Nieto

and ECWC gate of 19,998..... dont let the rags get to you give it back with facts they hate it
