Napoli Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Surely Kolarov and Zabaleta should have played at HOME to Newcastle, with Clichy and Richards playing the 2 tough AWAY games v Napoli and Liverpool?

I have no problem with rotation, but Mancini rotated incorrectly, imo.

I honestly thought we were the better side tonight, Played some nice football but lacked that conviction and urgency in the final third, We gave away two very cheap goals, Which you can't defend like that in the Europa League never mind the Champions League, You will be punished.

Anyway it's a stepping stone and learning curve for next season, (We will get another tough group).

Bring on Liverpool.

Bob's fault tonight, got a lot wrong.

Not the end of the world though, we will win the quadruple still.

Wednesday 7th December has all the makings to be better than that Hamburg QF night.

I don't think Napoli will beat Villareal.

Are you serious? Did you watch how good Napoli were against us in the 2 games and how shit Villarreal were against us in the 2nd game when they knew they were out. For all we know Villarreal may just play a load of kids.

We are out barring a miracle.

I think our priority is Premier league and that is why Richards and Clichy were rested...I've said this all season...CL is a learning curve and the best way to make sure we are back next year is to win the league.
We played well for much of the game and had plenty of possession and chances (Kolarov's shot end of first half, Balo's header second to name two good ones)

I thought we were a little slow to attack at times and gave Napoli the chance to get back in numbers. They on the other hand countered like lightning but we should have been prepared for that...Soft 1st goal to conced and a bit slow to react on number 2.
All in all I think we did wenough for the draw but that's football.
The last game in Spain is not a no brainer for Napoli and if they think it is it could still bite em on the arse.
Fingers crossed...no fat lady singing just yet.

A sensible and rational post. [Makes a change on here!]

I'll get me coat ;)

We got beaten, its a sensation we used to be more familiar with i know but we obviously have to suck it up. We weren't going to win the Champions League at first attempt, our group was a nightmare - i'd like to have seen any of the English teams do better in our position. We had some good chances, but they were the better team. Its a fucking learning curve and we'll do better next year.

Our aim is the Premier League for now, we're top of the table and we should be bloody grateful for that. Hope everyone gets back ok from Naples tonight as i'm sure its going to be hectic out there.

I don't get this talk of learning to play at the top level? Most of our players if not all are international players, how much more top level do you want? Our players have played in most leagues around the world, Italy. Spain, France etc so it is not alien to them, that is where tactics concentration and the right selection comes in to it unfortunately we have fell short on all 3 in Europe this year

We can't compete on the Thursday and on the Sunday. Impossible, and the Premiership comes first.

But we aren't out yet. I think we'll beat Bayern. They are through. Can Napoli win at Villareal? They can, but it's not a walk over like you're all assuming

Obvious that Prem is the priority for mancini, leaving out the two full backs and Aguero says it all.
Why were we so slow to get going 2nd half ?
our crossing was atrocious
Aguero came on too late
Roll on sunday and get this out of our system
