Napoli Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Some folk need to give their heads a wobble if they think we were shit tonight.
We dominated possession, chances created, shots on target and off....apart from golas scored what more do we need to do away from home in a partisan arena?
I clapped the lads off the park, applauded our away fans and whilst i am dissapointed with the result it's done and we need to get right for Liverpool now.

i really really don't want to sound negative in anyway but I cant see us beating Munich at home, they will play a strong squad and look very good in Europe at this moment in time and I can not see Napoli slipping up in Spain. We need to get back home have a rest and concentrate on the Liverpool match, these next few weeks are going to be really big for us in the league and we need to maintain our 5 point lead.

Awful performance, BM Got the team disastrously wrong yet again.
Kolarov's the worst full back i've ever seen and Dzeko is the definition of a Cart Horse when he plays in Europe and why does he leave it so late to change the team and bring the subs on FFS!!

For the investment in the squad it's been an awful Champions League campaign and now we have to face the Thursday Night Cup which could jeopardise the League campaign and leave us with nothing at the end of the season.

You can't have been watching us for too long if Kolarov's the worst full back you've ever seen, although I admit he was poor tonight.

I know yours is a knee-jerk reaction and we're not used to losing these days but really some need to get a grip.

We're not out of it yet and deserved a draw today. The team selction suggests where Mancini's priority lies and I totally agree with him as we're not ready to win the CL yet but we can win the Prem. In fact if we do go out in the group stages the rest of the league may as well give up.

I am disappointed but I think the premiership is the main target for this season and to learn as much as we can in Europe for future seasons.

I see the drama queens have dusted off their dresses and got their hand bags out of the wardrobe, welcome back we have missed you, where were you for the last few months?

Do us all a favour, get a grip will you

Re: Lets start a new trend...

Post of the night.

Well done to the blues who travelled to naples and hope they all get back safe.

Proud of my club x

Back up full backs? Zab plays for Argentina and Kolarov has been as good as Clichy this season.

Stop having a go at players who have done us proud this season. Are you blues, or rags on the wind up?

This season was about finding our feet in the competition. Not for a second have I thought we'd win it, I never thought we'd even get as far as the quarters. I knew from the outset we'd be naive and raw, and we certainly have been. We actually look like we did last season in the Prem; a bit tentative, a bit nervous, at times we haven't known what to do or when to do things properly, a team that's fresh and new, overall a team who hasn't played at this level of competition before and as a club we haven't. When we played like this last season we had all the morons out in force calling for the managers head, no doubt there'll be a fair few here for our CL campaign evaluations.

We're not out yet. All it takes is Nilmar to get back fit and nick a goal at home to Napoli and I think we will beat Bayern... and we'll be through. But even if that doesn't happen we'll learn a lot from this season's six games in the compeition and move up a level.

On our performances and some management decisions i must admit I'm a bit disappointed. Tonight our strongest team should have been put out. Clichy Richards Barry Agüero should have played. Lose tonight and it was going to be out of our hands (as it has turned out), yet we can afford to lose on Sunday against Liverpool as we have 25 games to make up for it. Now I don't like to criticise individuals but Kompany and Džeko haven't had a good game yet in the Champions Lg. Both poor in decision making and application. But I'm not having a go at them or the manager purposely, I hope they take what they've learnt from all this and improve on it for next season or after Christmas if we somehow manage to be in the comp still. Everyone who had poor games or constant flaws last season have all improved from last season to this and I'm right behind them and have no doubt every aspect of us will improve in the future.

Nothing to be down about. BLUE ARMY!

Good analysis Dan, I'd struggle to disagree with any of that.

We took too many long range shots, our decision making was poor and we made too many mistakes.

But the machine rumbles on.
