Nasri [Merged] continued.

These pathetic conspiracy theories about letting him serve his ban are ridiculous, I'm sure the club want him signed now but don't forget how awkward Arsenal are with outgoing transfers. He'll sign soon enough, but to start these conspiracy theories just smack of fans who have become incredibly impatient and greedy.

I think this deal is taking forever and possibly wont happen because Cook/Marwood/Khaldoon dont see this deal as being worth the 20m or so. He is available on a free next year and that is what C/M/K are likely looking at.

It makes no sense to spend 20mil on someone when they are either available on a free next year or something like 10m in Jan when Arse dont want to be left with nothing.

And tbh i dont even rate Nasri that highly. Had very few consistent games last year and without Fabregas so he had the proper chance to build on games. He didnt and apart from the Fulham game i cant remember him having a top game (Probably wrong but just what i saw)

do people seriously expect him to sign for us next summer when he will have his pick over every side in world football?

As long as he signs before the transfer window closes then I'm more than happy to twiddle my thumbs. I have a feeling his talent and performances will be worth the wait.

CTID101, he could be the difference between us winning the title and maintaining our top four status. That alone would cover his transfer fee. We paid £18,000,000 for Nigel De Jong and that was without weakening a rival. To weaken a rival and jump ahead of the inevitable queue for his services when available on a free is unique and essential that we take advantage of the huge resources we have at hand here.

-- August 15th, 2011, 1:16 pm --

No chance. He is not a player motivated by money. He wants to win things and has spent year after year not doing so at the crap shack at Highbury/ Emirates.

Blanc wants him to join us this summer though so it is in his best interests to force the issue in my opinion.

All very valid points being made today; get him asap, get him after his ban, wait til jan and get him cheaper, wait til next summer and get him for nowt.

I'm sure Mancini and team are well aware of all these options and have been for some time, and they have probably been working out the risks associated to these options. It may well have all been agreed behind closed doors with one of these options carefully chosen. Either this or I'm waaay off! ;-o

It makes plenty of sense.

Right now, we're bidding alone. Zero competition. Next summer, when he's available, we could be competing with upto 10 other teams for his signature. And when he's weighing up whether or not to sign for us, the fact that we pulled out of a deal to sign him a year ago isn't gonna make us seem to favourable now is it?

Football isn't Football Manager.

He hasn't signed yet because we haven't agreed a fee with Arsenal. It's nothing to do with whether he is cup tied or tracks back, etc.
