I love how the fee is slowly coming down in the media as the bullshit subsides, they were reporting 25m+ earlier in the week and now it's around the 20m mark, the truth is about 16m plus performance bonuses hence the long drawn out negotiation.

The media love to over exaggerate our transfer fees because they don't want to admit when we are signing top class players on the cheap as it doesn't fit their agenda. Aguero for 38m was a bargain considering Torres was 50m and Nasri for 16m plus add ons is a bargain when United paid the same for Van De Gea.

Dare I mention the ridiculous price of £35 million squandered on Andy Carroll

stage 1. we enquire about a player.
stage 2. they say piss of or how much they would want.
stage 3,. we talk to the player and see how he feels and negotiate wages.
stage 4 medical.
..what stage are we at now lol....or have i missed the other 656 stages that are making this a drama
You've missed absolutely fuck all until the last two pages. 6 weeks of absolute drivel. But now we hear that "it's in it's final stages"(SSN) and that Emirates Airlines have been in financial trouble. Good news and interesting news.

I'd say we're between points 2 and 3.

I'd agree with you, Between 2 and 3 but in this day and age you can be sure that before a club even starts to negotiate with a club over a fee they have already made sure the players agent knows the structure of his clients new deal so stage 3 is probably near enough sorted and just awaiting Arsenal to stop dicking around so the lad can sign.

so SSN say we`re in the final stages of negotiations then?? that means about another week of this deal to be done then!!!!! ;-)

I think that The Arsenal are trying to bump up his price and using his availability in the CL qualifier to do this. Be interesting if he gets picked to play.

Anyone know what time the Arse are training today and whether Samir is there? This has been a good indication of where we seem to be up to over previous days.

So SSN's source was Mancini's press conference, where they seem to think Mancini said is was close, when he didn't. He said he hopes it's close as there are only 10 days left. A complete non-story. Nothing has changed.

i fucking hate wenger. the end

Yep...he's the one whose been holding the deal up for the last 4 to 5 weeks......

Can't blame him really he new Mancini wanted players in early plus Wenger might of thought he could talk Nasri around, he'll probably give the ok in 12 days
