Heres my thinking...

United are our biggest threat to the title this year.

Next week Arsenal play united.

Could a deal have been done to keep nasri out of arsenal champs league games, but play him in premier league (including united game). this gives the gooners more chance of taking a point (points) out of that game, and also suits them as they are short on experience in the midfield & defence at the moment.

After the United game (provided Nasri is injury free) we than complete the deal to sign him. Meaning he has had a chance already to take points from some of our rival (Liverpool and Utd) albeit Arse where shite yesterday.

And we get him in time for our CL campaign starting.

Whilst all this is happening Arsenal fans live in hope that he is in fact staying.
Good theory....but we are talking about 20 million pound transfer and huge wage. Why risk a serious injury.....What happens if he breaks his leg against United?

Then he breaks his leg and can't pass the medical. Either way City don't seem to carry the bulk of the liability except losing him in this window. The likes of Frimpong, Ramsey and Wilshere are going to get skinned by the rag midfield. Your club is U21 side.

Just responding to your hypothetical. I think the deal goes through on Monday/Tuesday.

it's quite simple really.

If Nasri wants to stay at arsenal he can.
If Nasri wants to go to Man u he could force the issue or wait a year.
If Nasri wants to come to City he can.
If Nasri wants to go elsewhere he can

its HIS choice

ps, there's no need for me to add any reasoning or sly digs. those are the simple facts. we'll just have to wait and see which option he chooses.

I like that :)

Arsene Whinger = "The wally without a brolly".

Courtesy of The People but funny as fuck :-)

"Buy Buy Wenger" is another funny one. Why the hell he didn't sell Nasri 2 months ago when it was obvious he wanted away I'll never know. He could have had his replacement in place and not in the ridiculous position of having to play a player who wants out. Now every club knows he's desperate and will take him to the cleaners. Is he losing the plot?

I've always said he'll sign a day or two before the transfer window shuts! I would love him to play against the scum next week

The negotiations started 18 months ago, his people dragged it all last summer....the week after the window closed they broke of any talk and said they gonna make a decision next summer. Wenger should get blamed for alot of things, but this one is on the board who should have given his people a deadline last summer and sell him then

I honestly think that Wenger knows he has other options on the table for himself and is at the point of just not giving a fuck tbh.

No doubt that the board at Arsenal are as guilty if not more in not buying.

My post was in jest and you don't become a clown over night and Wenger knows what it takes to win football games.

This will be his last season at Arsenal without a doubt imo.

Nail on head, all this shit he prefers United-if he was that keen he'd be forcing the issue to go there-Nasris in a very powerful position, what these people don't want to understand is that city are a REAL force in world football and they will all mock at there peril.

I am beginning to think that Bobby is correct about our transfer team. People seem to be taking the p out of us and they are messing everything up. Bobby needs these people in asap. We have a great chance this year to do something special but we need the squad in place urgently to hit the ground running

I'm on about this transfer window. Nasri made it clear that he wasn't going to sign a new contract. As soon as he did that Wenger should have sold him and brought in a replacement. The fact that he didn't is bizarre imo.

Let me make this clear that i am not bashing Marwood or Cook and that the work they have done so far in getting the likes of Tevez, Silva and Aguero is top notch but can you imagine us negotiating with a Sandro Rosell or similar person of stature in world football at our club?
