It was canal plus saying the deal was off.

The only way for arsenal and wenger to save face now is if the deal happens today's then they can say he didn't travel to complete transfer.

Then the board will be flooded with arsenal fans saying how shit he is and how pleased they are he has been sold. Lol.

If he wanted the move it was obvious he would refuse to play so it's actually a very good sign for us.
.....And his agent :-) lol

Thing is though as a professional football player then you have to fulfil your role of employment. Surely to decline to play leaves him in breach of his contract? Is it not the same as me deciding, despite my job role, not to come in on that day and still expect payment?

Despite my allegiance, I'd have more respect for him if he respected his clubs and Wengers wishes and fulfilled his duties to his club rather than made the move to us in one way but if he really wants to come to City I can understand why he doesn't wish to risk placing the move in jeapordy.

If I was Samir I would run down my contract and receive a huge signing on fee with higher wages. It's not as if he needs the money, but why turn down the opportunity to line your pockets?

Not being appriciated at work can be hard mentally, even if you work at some place with only a few employees, can only guess how it would be playing football for a club with many fans, even if you would get a lots of money in the end

Professional football players tend to be surrounded by people giving them opinions and advice (many live in a sychophantic bubble most of the time). Most get unsettled by thoughts of not getting what they (or their advisors) 'believe' they are worth - or more accurately if they (again believe) someone who they chose to compre themselves with is getting more than them - this will cause upset - and will eat away at them. This is almost certainly a factor with Nasri - who will compare his present income unfavourably with his perceived peers - and god knows what Moderic thinks?...! A few clubs - us, Chelsea, the Rags, and the Dippers are paying salaries on another planet compared with the rest of the Premiership.

If he doesn't play and Arsenal go out of the CL then he will be blamed for Arsenal's failure.

Which will be harsh, cos Wenger should never have let it come to this. He is the one who thought he could depend on Frimpong et al.

Still, no way back if he doesn't play in this one.

Why do Arsenal have to face any face? They have been clear that they wanted to keep the player, he refused to sign a new contract and they decided to sell him. The fee was agreed few days ago and most reports says his agent suddenly demanded 3 million. Now if things have suddenly worked out. There's only two things that could happen. City gave the agent ultimatum to forget the 3 million or City agreed to pay the agent what he wanted. To me the latter sounds more plausible as nothing we have seen indicates he's desperate to come to City

Doesn't look like things have 'suddenly worked out'. Just looks like he's refusing to play in the CL for Arsenal.

This would also suggest he's 'desperate to come to City' because he's making sure he doesn't jeapordise the move.

Yeah but if he's that desperate, why did he play against Liverpool? I mean he could have easily got injured and jeopardise the deal. look at Fabregas and Modric, they have refused to play not to risk any injury

Fuck offs Gooney. It's simples really, he was asked to play and felt like playing, so he did.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, injuries. Still not as bad as being cup tied if it wasn't some freak accident.

I would suggest he is far more desperate to come to us than stay with Wenger's U21 side.

What is happening at Arsenal is criminal really. If i was an Arsenal fan being asked to pay the kind of prices you lot do i would be fucking seriously pissed off right now.
