I remember seeing Bale having some horrific looking ankle injuries and then he was back in a few weeks.

Gutted at the moment

Last year he rolled his ankle once and was back for the next game.

If its a kick to the ankle as is being stated as long as its not fractured he should be right for the start of the season.

Early days of course but all the early news is encouraging Marvin.

I hope this news and the performance today make you a bit more positive about things.

Even if he misses the early part of the season I am with the cover we have for him.

Thanks. I always think the worst.

The first 20 mins before the pitch degenerated were very encouraging. Class above Sunderland. Impressed with Negredo, Fernandinho and Navas

Its understandable Marvin , I do as well but having supported us for 39 years I like things as they are now a lot more than in days gone by.

We have a squad that is capable of challenging for trophies at the highest level now and that's can't be all that bad.

I never forget where we have been so I savour any success we may have which I never thought would happen in my lifetime.

It's never good when one of our players gets injured but its part an parcel of football and its nothing we can control.

I'm 33 years supporting them and I concur completely with that sentiment!

If It's ankle ligament damage we're probably looking at 2 months out, then
a replacement would be a neccessity.

Can you get ankle ligament damage from a kick to the ankle? Pellegrini has confirmed it wasn't the landing/a twist, it was one of Sunderland's hatchet men kicking him.
