He's a very good defender. He reads the game well, distribution is good, wins a good percentage of headers and stays on his feet thus doesn't usually dive in. That said, he is 20 and is therefore liable to make mistakes. The best players in the world make mistakes. What MP needs to do is pick the games when he can rest Nastasic so he isn't being overworked and he can also develop, particularly removing the little pushes that he tends to do and invariably leads to a free kick being given away. This lad is going to be with us for a long time and will be a tremendous asset, let's not be too harsh with knee jerk criticism, yes he was poor yesterday but that doesn't make him a bad player.

He is good and has great potential but I think he should be 3rd choice when the new guy gets fit.

I was looking past yesterday's performance. He may have had an off day, but the whole team had an off day and luck wasn't with us. But, that specific performance aside, I have noticed that Nastasic gives away a lot of what I'd regard as unnecessary free kicks with these "little pushes" and trips. Yesterday he did it in a very dangerous area and they scored with a wonder free-kick. If neither of their first two goals had been given/given away I think we would have gone on to win comfortably. As it was, Nastasic gave away another free kick by the half way line that allowed them to waste a minute and a half at the end of the game. I just wish he'd cut this unnecessary niggling part out of his otherwise excellent play!Plaything of the gods said:He commits too many unnecessary fouls and gives away free kicks in dangerous areas.

Look' Moron' his flaws get exposed everytime Kompany is injured or banned. Yesterday even Kompany failed to bail him out..
As others keep saying he's going to be world class on that basis so will Lescott ?? When ,how can you be sure. If he is slow at 19 what the f ... is he going to be like at 27........

Nastasic is a phenomenal talent, his reading of the game and ability on the ball is excellent. Imo he has got incredible potential and will only improve by playing consistently at the highest level. He showed last year that he can mix it with the best, and thankfully we have a manager that has the nous for developing and mentoring young talent, not just scrapping them at the first sign of trouble like some of you lot.
