Nathan Ake

This Ake thread is starting to sound like the Bernardo one unfortunately where everything is black and white and perceived “unhappiness” is talked about. It seems to be the theme of the window how unhappy everyone is meant to be. Could their bonuses and medals be weighing them down? Old Trafford has unhappy players. Compare and contrast.

Pep has said a lot of positive things about Ake recently and what he believes he brings to the team both on and off the pitch. It’s unlikely he wants him to go.

Ake has not asked to leave.

If Chelsea or any other club bid for a City player this does not mean the player becomes or was unhappy and wants to go or that City suddenly don’t rate them. It means they are looking at an unexpected job offer. That’s all it is.

If a club offered City £300 million for KDB and wanted to double his wages all parties would consider the offer. Nobody was or is unhappy.

Where does this BM paranoia come from this window? I really haven’t seen it in other windows.

Certainly not standing in his way if we can get our money back.

That applies to every player though. And it is not getting money back, it is meeting the club's valuation. That has actually been said many times explicitly by Pep and the heirarchy, doesn't need twisting.

Not playing at the end of last season and the club does not seem keen to stop him leaving, if we get anywhere near 50m, in my humble opinion we have pulled down Chelsea's pants!

So based on your humble opinion that his is shit then. With a bit of he didn't play while he was injured thrown in for good measure.

Based on what? That’s a genuinely odd claim with zero basis.
It was reported at the end of the season the club were happy for him to leave, and the biggest evidence was his appearances on the bench with a defensive injury crisis, again rumors he was carrying an injury, yet he played for his country days later.

A very ordinary signing for me, one I did not understand at the time and after two seasons of watching him one I still don't get, a possible 50m transfer is simply a get out of jail card.

Watching him for Bournemouth he always looked underwhelming, neat and tidy but any decent striker would love to play against him and more importantly for us, on the ball he is very ordinary.

City have the same policy for basically everyone... it’s not based on Peps liking of them. They are obviously ok with letting Bernardo going if he got the proper offer. City offered sterling a new deal which was ok:ed by Pep.

There is nothing that suggests pep want Ake gone. All akes decision

So, he wanted Sterling out even tho he wanted Sterling to explicitly to stay? You make no sense.

So Pep wanted Jesus and Ferran out?
sterling and Torres wanted out and sterling in last year of his contract. Jesus wanted to leave for regular football. Ake didn’t ask to leave and has time in his contract. In fact a few weeks ago was saying he was happy and looking forward to a good season. But, we are happy for him to leave. If you can’t see the difference….
