Nathan Ake

I would love it, if it were possible and the club felt confident to let Mbete (same goes for Palmer) have a real go in the team.

I just don't think they do and I fully understand why. And I do thibk the risk would be too big, given the investment in the squad and desire to win things, and keep Pep fired up and enjoying it.

I still expect both Ake and Raz to be replaced, but happy to see what happens.
What do the club do then?

I doubt we're going to get a top international CH who is happy to sit on the bench.
We have Dias, Stones and Laporte already and one of those isn't going to be happy about sitting on the bench to start with.
I know people talk about injuries but how many times do a club have 3 CH's plus the starting RB all injured at the same time? That wasn't a normal situation.

Then there's talk about bringing in a young CH from abroad, or a lad from Everton and Leicester have been mentioned. Why do that when they will take time to settle and have learn a new system when we have our own young lads, whose teams play exactly the same way as the first team, already here.
Our young lads have already been training with some of the world's top players and soon the defenders will be going up against two of the best young strikers in the world. If they are good enough, i think they deserve a chance before we spend on that position again.

Chelsea are seemingly also quite serious about Raphinha and Ronaldo.

It's hard to see them buying those two and Sterling, so maybe they are leveraging the fact it's our last chance to get a fee for Sterling to lower the total package.

Tuchel is a smart coach, don't think he will be all that convinced about Ronaldo

Let's see

Raphina will probably end up at Barcelona. They will probably convince Leeds that they can pay and in terms of salary he is the cheapest option.

I thought Ake was a liability in his first season, but last season he seemed much more settled and impressed at times. Always wondered how a man measuring no more than 3ft 3 could run so fast and jump so high.
He was injured his first season , he has never been a liability in any way , he played well through pain at the end of the season and helped us win the title
