Nathan Ake

We wanted to replace Otamendi with KK.. but why do I get the feeling he'll be just like Otamendi for them?
 
Chelsea looking at letting Levi Colwill go. Damn, he thought of as a potential 'Terry' by the chelsea fans they'll be ragin.
 
If they sign koulibaly, kimpembe and Ake, he's going there to do a similar role as he is here, not a guaranteed starter at CB as well as lb/lwb cover, that's what the Chelsea lot are thinking anyway, which begs the question why go to a weaker side to do the same role? And from our point of view, I don't see anybody better and cheaper to replace him with so why are we letting Chelsea take our utility defender to be their utility defender. They need telling to fuck off.

In fairness, they play with 3 CBs so he'll either be a starter or the first sub. But here he is the 2nd sub.

Not sure why we would sell Ake. He seems happy enough competing for a place from the bench and never really let us down. Don’t see how we can upgrade and still keep 4 CDs happy.

Why?

They give us 50m for a player not worth that in a million years.

We finally sign a class LB and have the money to go out and get a top class CB, creating further competition, improving us considerably.

Never stand still, never be complacent, look over the road to see what that looks likes.

Must admit I've gradually come round to this over a period of weeks. Didn't want Aké to go, at all, but by God if someone's foolish enough to shell out £50 million, come on, you've got to separate a fool and his money. That said, there's no proof that that's what it's going to be.
With the money that we've got from Jesus, Sterling and potentially this (not forgetting Lavia, which was far from a negligible sum for essentially an academy player), we must surely be able to find a centre back in England or Europe who can do the job as a good back-up.
I'll still be very disappointed if we don't get Cucu, though.
