Unless we get Cucurella, I can’t see any sense in letting Nathan go, he pledged earlier this summer he was willing to fight for a place, so I wouldn’t settle for anything less than £60m. If we got the right price, so be it, but I would want to see a fourth centre back promoted from the academy or a young promising left-sided player bought from elsewhere. From all I have read, Ake is a great bloke in the dressing room, and without his anticipation we would have conceded more goals and lost points last season, so it could be argued that without him we would have finished second. After and excellent start to the summer window, it has gone a bit flat, great that Rodri has extended, we all know about the potential for Alvarez, Phillips will improve under Pep when he gets the chances. I hope Haaland hits the ground running, I think it will take half a season for him to adapt to City’s style, so a lot depends on how Grealish and Foden can fill the gaps left by Sterling and Jesus. But I still think we are a bit light on left defense, so don’t let Ake go cheaply. If we get Cucurella, and keep Ake, it would give Zinchenko more opportunities to play in midfield, which could be a win-win for us
