Negredo

Alvaro Negredo has handed Manchester City an injury boost with the striker set to be fit for their Premier League clashes with Tottenham and Chelsea despite suffering a shoulder injury.

Negredo damaged his shoulder in Tuesday's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg win at West Ham - where he scored twice to take his tally for the season to 23 goals in 33 games - and was pictured leaving the Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester in a protective sling on Wednesday.

However after initial tests, Negredo did not require further treatment at City's Carrington training ground and the sling is believed to be purely precautionary.

Negredo is set to be rested for Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie at home to Watford, but should return at White Hart Lane next Wednesday before City host Chelsea five days later.

Except Zab, who is the only player to return from a hamstring injury after about 5 days! :)

I hear he can turn Silva into Gold.

Is there any rule about numbers on backs as purely from a marketing angle I would love to see negrado with 666 on his shirt which would make the club an absolute fortune in marketing revenue.

You know what, I wouldn't even take Beast to Spurs. Give the guy a proper rest, he's been playing all season, let him come roaring back to terrify Chelsea. Sergio's just back and and on a hair trigger, Dzeko's definitely in form, and we've got this guy Jovetic who must be champing at the bit to get out there and show finally what he's worth. That's more than enough up front to take the Lane.

Is it official yet that he's not seriously injured? I've only seen the one article on ESPN and nothing from the club.
