His contributions from 20 to 30 years ago in aiding the development of mRNA vaccines (which became successful only 10 years ago) isn't the issue. His statements about mRNA vaccine performance in treating COVID are, because they are untrue. He has even retracted statements he has made after they were proven false by his peers. He has even shared incorrect patient case studies on social media without verifying the authenticity of the details and been served with a cease-and-desist warning from the patient family to force its removal.

Is this really the kind of behaviour from a scientist or doctor you want when helping to treat you or your family?

. . . And who, based on his comments, 270 doctors signed a letter in response to, asking Spotify to put a misinformation policy in place.

Now because you’re very balanced and fair, please vet the credentials of each and every one of the 270. Thanks.

Science is about exactly this, coming to a consensus & NOT shutting down opposing views, they should be encouraged.

The more we try to shut down the debate, the worse it gets. Stop being intolerant of other experts who don't agree with views that you choose to believe.

I really enjoyed this take on the situation...

I'm not "intolerant"; I just don't have the the time nor the inclination to listen to the 1.

Explain in mathematical terms why my decision is a bad one.

What specifically did you enjoy about it? What are Russell Brand's expertise/credentials?

As a contract of his employment (with the company that funded his research) he would have had to assign the proprietary rights to any patents registered under his name.

He doesn't actually own any patents.

Bitterness about not getting all the credit, money and celebrity during the height of his career maybe?
