I think you’ll find it was koeman who changed the tactics !
Saka was getting absolutely tons of space in the first half to run at players (and using it very well). They saw that and pushed right up on him. In general, they occupied the midfield much more in the second half, rather than all grouping in their final third. Classic stifllng tactic, and it worked quite well. Phil had far less space to work in. That said, that disallowed goal where Kyle was a fraction offside, the movement was set off by him, was it not?

England V Spain Sunday.

As every City fan knows. Rodri doesn't lose. (Apart from penalties)! Just saying!

Wasted to much time and energy debating England with twats that want us to lose.
What a sub from Southgate.
Fucking brilliant England.

In the final AGAIN !!

Enjoy supporting Spain in the final to all you boring anti England mugs.
Mate, we are all happy England has progressed.

But surely even you are now recognising England are getting through despite of Southgate, not because of him?

He constantly sets up the team wrong, his tactics are poor, and he relies on moments of brilliance or luck (or, in the case of tonight, both) to prevail. We very rarely ever win matches confidently—we mostly struggle through them—as opposed to other national sides that regularly do, including the one England will be facing on Sunday. And that should not be happening with the players at his disposal.

He made the sub (later than he should have) to correct the mistake he made starting Kane in the first place. If Watkins started we very likely wouldn’t have needed the last minute goal. He persists with Bellingham no matter how bad he plays (or how much he seemingly refuses to link up with his attacking partner, unlike Mainoo or Saka). He played Trippier out on the left again even though it was obvious it was not working against Switzerland. He has Rice out to sea, rather than playing to his strengths.

This squad and luck are the reason we are in the final, not Southgate. And it’s been that way for some time.
