Well, save the fact that in English the modern term “Deutsch” comes from the Middle English term “Dutch” (which itself comes from the Old High German “diutisc” meaning “of the people”), rather than the other way round. :-)

'Dutch' actually originates from the lead character in 1987 movie, Predator. The name took on universal use as Dutch, in the film, was portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who, as we all know, is from Switzerland.

But I maintain a half-fit Shaw on the left is about as effective as the very right-footed Trippier on the left.

Spain today, Tenerife monday. Even though I’m extremely cynical when it comes to the national team I’ve been witnessing first hand the joy it brings to some so I don’t begrudge anyone getting giddy (even you @BlueHammer85 )now. There’s not much that’s gone on in the world over the last few years that’s been overly positive so by hook or by crook I hope England get through tonight so Sunday is a fabulous occasion for both countries.

Well here we are at another semi final, having stumbled through the group and and the two last games. I have very little expectation yet again for tonight but as always still live in hope. Comon England.

Scotland are going to hate England in Football tournaments, there is no changing that unfortunately and let's face it, who cares, they're shite and always will be.

I care more of the hate England fans give England, towards the Manager, Players etc. that i have found has got worse and worse since rise of social media/forums. that i find alot more depressing.

Oh come on BH, stop twisting things, how many times do you have to be told that no one hates Southgate. People just think he's out of his depth and this England side are wasted in him because of it.
