Load of rubbish this thread, im 25 so never saw the hooliganism of the 70s and 80s but im sure that was 10x worse then a few lads throwing a couple of pints about.
You are right, it was 10 times worse.
Google 'Hillsborough' and 'Heysel' to see where that got us.
Mistakes were made and lessons learned; society has changed, it is now less tolerant of any kind of violence. A good thing obviously. So the chances for this generation to behave as badly as my generation did, are more limited. Again, not a bad thing.
