New City fan: what should I know?

Welcome aboard the roller coaster. A big thing about being a blue is needing a sense of humour, it's been tough over the years. As previous posters have said read the history York away, think I was the only fan not there. The Gillingham game then watch the QPR game from start to finish. Finally reading this forum will give you great insight into the attitude of the fans, how much we love our club and the frustration we feel on a regular basis. Finally go find a chicken balti pie, you can't be a blue til you've tried one ;)

Welcome on board, just remember that most City fans are glass half empty types, don't take them too seriously we have all been to hell and back supporting this club, but it's the fans that make this club what it is, an odder bunch you will never meet, sometimes I think there only two sane ones out there, and I have doubts over the other one ;-)

So I've been hanging around here reading and throwing in some comments where I can, I've also watched the movie "Blue Moon Rising". As a new City supporter, what should I know?

Some background on me... I'm Canadian and (of course) love hockey. My grandparents on my Mothers side (Ukrainian) were displaced by WW2 and met in Manchester. It's there my Mom was born and just a few years later they sailed for Canada and a new life. So I feel an affinity for Manchester and couldn't see myself being a Reds fan (they seem like real spoiled brats to me). Now with our cable showing so many BPL matches I can actually choose a side and follow a club, which I think is far more fun than just following the league as a whole.

Oh and I also wonder too when they release the schedule each year for the Premiership, how many months in advance. I'm getting married next year and my fiancee has agreed to see a football match in Europe on our way to the honeymoon.

All City fans are welcome. Spread the City word in Canada

The best thing you did was become a Blue.
The worst thing you did was post on this forum, it's full of c*nts.

A bit of advice if I may, when we are playing, don't go in the match day thread, if we lose, don't go in the post match thread. Never on any account go into the Transfer Forum and finally never post in the £50 thread that is for needy look at me posters.

Oh and silly smiley face makes everyone think you are joking. If you notice I didn't put one !

He's right about the matchday and transfer forums though.
