New CL Format Thoughts | After GW2 (pg13) | GW3 (pg33)

If we get to the CL play offs - and I think we do - February would look like:

2 Feb - Arse A
8/9 Feb - 4th round FA cup (in case we have beaten Salford..)
11/12 Feb - CL play-off 1st leg, home
15 Feb - Newcastle H
18/19 Feb - CL play-off 2nd leg, away
22/23 Feb - dippers H
25 Feb - spurs A

Ah well.
And as it stands we play Atletico don't we?

Literally couldn't be much worse. Alvarez turning into Maradona against us and probably end up with more injuries.

Genuinely, when do we think about just throwing it and try to save the prem season.

No point thinking about how it stands currently unless we’re expecting all games to be drawn from now on

Hope the club boosts the stadium WiFi v Bruges as we'll be sat there with one eye on our phones checking whether we're above or below 24th place. And checking play-off opponents if we're above the line.

Is it possible to play Juventus again in this play off format. It reads as if it’s a draw that’s held of 9-16 and 17-24. The 9-16 teams play at home first.

Then the last 16 is mapped out for the route to the final.

If we win one game against either PSG or Bruges we will play in the qualifiers, could possibly be in 24th but another two games in a congested season with so many major injuries. As an example Gundo was probably brought back to be a squad player, not a pivotal role in midfield. The injuries and absences have majorly shafted us, it won't get any better after the Club World Cup tests our smallish squad to the limit.

Lack of recruitment must have been affected by the charges, the Red Cartel have done their job well, absolute wankers, aided and abetted by Masters, Gill and the spineless bastards who can't stand what we' have achieved.

If we qualified on goal difference in 24th place (not a particularly far fetched scenario) and went on to win the whole tournament it would merely prove what everyone sensible has known for many many years - that there’s very little correlation between winning the CL and being the best team in Europe
I remember arguing with liverpool fans about this when they last won it.
Think I proved my point when I pointed out that by their own logic, that would make spurs the 2nd best team in Europe.

As other English clubs are doing well in the European competitions this year, it looks nailed on that England will benefit from an additional Champions League spot next season. Meaning the top 5 Premier League clubs are VERY likely to qualify to next years competition.

Italy and Germany are currently the two favourites for the second additional spot.
