New Food and Drink Vendors for the Ground and City Square | Edible coffee cups introduced

Call me a cynic, but the gates opened 15 minutes late, so the offer of half priced food was already against the odds.

As was the fact most of the outlets were poorly stocked.

The immediate impact of larger footfall at that time also guaranteed slower service.

Funny that...

Our queue at N2 was already a couple hundred strong at the turnstile about 12.50pm.

Of the 20 people or so just in front of us, at least half a dozen had issues with getting in via their phones and someone eventually just clicked them in.

Glad I went with paper tickets.

To be fair, they kept the half price offer going until 2.15 because of late opening. Still didn’t excuse how wank the offerings and service were.

I’m probably posting sh*te once again, but it seems Soriano and the top directors at City are completely oblivious to what’s going on the concourses.

Maybe Soriano should do an epsidode of Undercover Boss and spend a day working on one of the L1 concourse catering stations, or on one of the frontline beer carts.

Maybe leave the Executive suit on a matchday and come and experience the fans 'matchday' experience - he'd learn far more by doing that than sending out his endless surveys.

Big problems on CB Upper tier. We’d had a busy morning playing football so the plan was to arrive early and get my lads a burger and chips in the ground while I had a pint with my dad. An inexplicable new traffic bottleneck near the gas tank lost us half an hour and we got in at 2.35.

the boys went off and came back with a hot dog each, saying there was no chips. I told them they could have them at half time. even though we got back there well before the half time whistle and it took 25 minutes to get served and when they got there all the drinks were sold out. Worst I’ve ever known it. I assume it was the combination of staffing shortages and inexperience.

All part of the enhanced match day experience.

Bravo Soriano, bravo.

On another note, my son was chuffed Northern Soul were outside and he always goes to them at Xmas markets.

Great cheese toasties.
Can you not make the lad a cheese toastie at home before you leave?

I must just be a tight **** as there is no way I would pay 3-10 quid for any kind of midday sustenance at a sporting event, it pisses me off no end the prices they charge at concerts, Wembley other captive audience events.

Eat before leaving, if you have a long travel then I'd rather go to a local chippy/bakers for chips or a pie tbh.

I wonder how much vegan fucking chilli they sold?
Funnily enough, made us all laugh, but first catering outlet near City Square was the “garden gourmet” plant based vegan nonsense. Only one with no queue and the only one that was shut on leaving the ground too, must have made a fortune….

I got lucky really, my queue was pretty quick in SS3, the pie was nice (Steak) and the bill was cheap- £5.87 for 3 drinks and 2 pies. I thought the pies must have been being given away but I think she just messed up on the till.

The choice of Dark Fruits or Amstel though is just wrong.

If they want people in the ground early then they need to offer better options. The government also need to start allowing people to have a drink at their seat particularly if pre game.
