I can't believe the other thread was locked, ok tone the abuse down but let us speak about it!
Would Liverpool, utd, spurs, Newcastle, arsenal, Chelsea fans be any less angry about the same situation their back yard? No!
It's about identity, I don't get why some people don't get it.

Liverpool and chelsea have only had the same colour shorts as their shirts since the mid sixties. Previously both wore white shorts. Though if the scousers changed back to their more traditional white it would be on national news for a month. Also spurs have all white about as often as we have all blue. I do agree though, white shorts and shirt trim goes better with sky blue shirts.

In the wc many teams went for white shorts and socks or all one colour and lost their iconic colours as a result.

Firstly – teams wore the kits they did in the WC because of a FIFA directive asking them to wear all one colour if possible – or to not be 'multicoloured', hence why Brazil spent most of the tournament in yellow shirts with white shorts and socks etc. – I thought it was piss poor and completely needless... I mean why? Brazil looked shite with white shorts... yet add the traditional blue shorts and they looked fucking classic!!!

As for Liverpool/Chelsea – I have stressed many times now that if you look at kit history, in the period mid-to-late 1960's, every big team chose a strip and has stuck with it ever since. It is their Identity... look at the last 28 kits for the Rags... regardless of manufacturer it is, without fail, red shirt/white shorts/black socks (and before anyone says it - yes I know their European kit had white socks, but that is a different matter).
Look at the last 28 kits for the Dippers, again without fail, all red!
Our kit SHOULD be predominantly SKY BLUE SHIRT and WHITE SHORTS – that can include navy blue trim/white trim... whatever, as long as that is left unchanged – sock colour I'm not overly bothered about, navy, sky blue or white all work nicely.
Fact is we get messed about like a lower division team – in today's modern game, and with the club being so savvy when it comes to marketing and branding, you'd think they'd get the most visual part of that branding correct – get it sorted City BLUE and WHITE!!!

That post should be made a sticky, absolutely spot on.

Unfortunately the same old arguments of "if you don't like it, don't buy it" and "Christ on a bike, grown men arguing over a pair of shorts" and "We wore blue shorts in 1978" will crop up.

People that say those things need it beaten in to them, it's not about wanting to wear it, it's about branding, and more importantly about the IDENTITY of the club!

I saw the new away shirt in Rebel Sport in Broadway,Sydney.
It feels a lot better than my sons shirt from last year but not impressed by the colour.
The price is very reasonable though,$90 for an adult size as opposed to about $130 for a Sydney FC shirt.

Here you go People.

Taken Saturday.

As I've already stated, I like it. It looked and felt like a quality product.

Prefer white trim, I really do. That being said, I think these are mint. Not a bad effort at all.

The shirt is superb. Would look so much better with white shorts though.

I assume this has been mentioned once or twice already.

Meanwhile, in La Liga....

Ive gone the other way, having seen it in the friendly I think it looks good. The back of the socks is naff but its nowhere near as bad as i had envisioned it after the sneak peeks.
