Is this thread still going?

Christ what a bunch of absolute babies, crying about the colour of our shorts when we're the reigning champions.
There wasn't this much uproar before the 2012 season when we wore Blue shorts.

And our brand is sky blue, anything else, like our shorts doesn't really matter to me.

From reading these threads over the years, the general consensus seems to be:

100% want sky blue shirts

95% prefer white shorts
5% prefer blue shorts

40% prefer sky blue socks
40% prefer navy socks
10% prefer white socks

I agree the era you grew up with has a huge influence on which you prefer. My guess is out of the 5% who prefer blue shorts, 99% of them were born in the early 70s.

.... seeing how its all sounding pathetic now??

Cant change things this season and it'll be white next season regardless. We know a lot think white. We know a lot don't give a fuck. Keep going on about the colour of the kit then 'Full Kit Wankers' will evolve into a new sub-species before long.

The only thing that sounds pathetic is this post mate – and frankly i'm pretty disappointed coming from you!
I've noticed you've posted quite a few smart badge designs on other threads – so you find a debate about the very image of our team and club pathetic, yet taking the time to create badges that, let's face it, the club will never use... you don't see as pathetic – if not just a total waste of time?

The other really, really disappointing thing is that you bring up the "full kit wankers" gem! Why the fuck can people not grasp that it isn't anything to do with the fans, or whether or not fans chose to wear the shirt, full kit, City branded thong – It's purely about WHAT THE TEAM WEAR – it's purely about OUR CLUB'S IMAGE AND BRAND!
The problem with this seasons kit isn't the shirt – in the flesh it's actually very nice. The problem is City's colours are Sky Blue and White – and there's no White in the new kit!
It's been stressed over and over, but will we see Liverpool's kit next season with white shorts and socks? NO!
Will the Rags new Adidas kit be red shirts, red shorts and red socks with black trim? NO!
We all know... and football fans worldwide all know exactly what their kits will be next season... and the season after that ad infinitum – It's their identity, their brand, they settled on it in the mid to late 60's and haven't changed it since... not once (and special Euro kits don't count!)
Now take our identity – it's a fuck up! But the club is trying to establish itself now as one of the World's biggest football clubs, with the aim of being THE biggest – we need to get our identity sorted... It should, without fail be SKY BLUE SHIRTS and WHITE SHORTS! The socks are contentious, I give you that – but again we should pick a colour - Sky Blue, White or Navy and stick with it!

Superb post.[/quote]

Agreed. Hits the nail on the head!

There was plenty of comments on here about the blue shorts in 2012 at the time. 95% were against it, same as there are this time. Disappointing that the club decided to ignore the supporters that time, and no doubt they'll do the same this time. Can't wait for them to send me the next "Match day experience" questionnaire.

Why is being concerned about the club's kit – the club's very identity 'acting like a baby' – please tell me, I really want to know?
If anything, posts like your's that whinge about other people's opinions... and as it turns out, the majorities opinions... are more childish than anything.
The club's kit is important – our brand IS NOT sky blue IT IS sky blue AND white – it may be extreme, but if we don't let the club know we don't like it, we could end up getting a situation like Cardiff... but that's by-the-by – may whole argument is our kit should always be sky blue shirt and white short, our club is clever enough to realise how important a consistent kit is globally... surely?

I do find the kit and badge designing pathetic and if i had nothing better to do when i did them, then yes i agree they are waste of time. I only do them when people are complaining the 3 stars or the eagle or want them doing to see how it looks, and if i have 5 minutes with nowt to do, i do it.

obviously there is a mix up with the FKW reference, i meant it purely as a comparison to the ridiculous nature that this debate is being blown up to. When i get direct messages on Twitter from City fans to boycott games, start a breakaway club, a protest march outside the Stadium ... then i think "more ridiculous than a FKW".

Let's be honest, are you going to stop being a City fan because there is no white in a kit? If City decided from now on, to establish a constant 'brand identity' that the home kit will only be Field Blue and Navy, there will never be white in the kit again, would you stop being being a City fan and switch to another club??

I'm of the opinion that there should never be any Navy in the home kit. It should ALWAYS be (some sort of) Sky Blue and White. Because i remember the kits of Saab and Phillips thats when i fell in love with City.

But do i kick off when there's navy or maroon in the kit, NO! because its been done before, its part of the history, the identity of the club.

Does that identity need to change? At least into something that is consistent maybe, but as a club, City has always evolved in changing times, tastes and environment. I find that is a strength not a weakness.

Am i going to stop watching City because there is no white in the kit? Hell no.

Am I going to berate other City fans, telling them 'they aren't proper City fans if the like the new kit'? No.

If i feel we are giving unnecessary ammunition to rival fans to take the piss out of us that we are bunch of "vain pansies crying over clothes" then YES i'm going to feel embarrassed.

but when i know the kit will be blue and white next season, we will still have that shield etc etc, i dont see the point of wasting time on things you cant change, that's all. Have a whinge, then move on. Much more important things in life to obsess over ..... like why are Wagon Wheels so small now i'm older?

From 2013 but just came across this.
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2345663/New-York-Citys-unofficial-new-kit-design-company.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... mpany.html</a>
Could this be behind the Blue and Navy combination?
