New Music - 2024

don't get me wrong,
i'm in no way shape or form criticising the content of this thread,
i'm just saying the title is grammatically incorrect.
it should read something like "new songs - 2024"

Sometimes they are songs, sometimes whole albums

"splitting hairs" would be a good name for a band :)

i mean no harm.

imho a song/record/tune by a new band can gernuinely be called new music.
a new song by an artist we already know doesn't deserve to be classed as new music.

i'm not having a go.
anyone who knows me knows i'm into my music.

all i said was the thread title confuses me.

if we were still on the "new music - 2023" thread i wouldn't consider a new song by fontaines dc as new music.
i would expect to come across tunes like these,
because they were/are new music.






(and in truth, anything on speedy wunderground is worth a listen)

Lizzy McAlpine's 3rd album "Older" out today.

23 year American singer-songwriting in the classic sense, this album is less sonically interesting than "Five Seconds Left" which was the soundtrack to my 2022 and provided a Tik Tok driven hit in "Ceiling" last year, but I reckon it's got real emotional depth.
