why is everybody huffy about the shield? because it reminds of bad times? i personally think it is barely noticeable, and the kit is quite attractive overall, one of the better ones Nike has come up with lately.

nike have given the reason for the shield as its a throwback to the coat of arms..

On this new shirt the Manchester City club crest is placed inside a shield shape. This is inspired by the city of Manchester’s coat of arms, which City used as their own club crest for special occasions including the 1956 FA Cup final.

The more I look at it, the more I think it's one of the best we've had, shield kind of makes it what it is, too. Not judging these fucking shirts based on one photo from a coffee table again, as i've been rather wrong on this one!

Nike obviously don't know a thing about our club! Rodwell has got 55 Huws on the back of his shirt and one of the shirt models has got Boyata 38 on the back of his shirt and Boyata currently has no number in our squad

That isnt the decision of Nike, that will be done to the PR Marketing department, or even simply shirts out of a bag?

well if true they should have not made it so subtle and deliberately made it stand out (i.e. different colour)
