New striker?

Moussa Dembele. Lighting fast, good finisher and has a very good future ahead of him.

Could be a great long term signing for us. And we already have fell victim to him...Twice at Parkhead to draw 3-3 with the great unwashed and again 2 goals against Lyon.

I believe he would be classed as home grown also. Seems like a no brainer.

Cavani on a free, short term deal. Surely makes too much sense for city to do that
Sounds like he could be off to the Rags...

Man United are closing on Edinson Cavani deal! Agreement reached on personal terms until 2022. Last details to be sorted about agents fee [huge amount - €10m asked] then the deal will be done. #MUFC see Cavani as “great opportunity”.

not getting in a striker is a disgrace to be honest.

Aguero's legs are made of breadsticks
Jesus (out injured too) is a good player but nowhere prolific enough to be relied upon.
Delap has great potential but is still very raw, even Pep is opting for sterling to play up top ahead of him.

As time ticks on it looks increasingly unlikely we will get one in, and i cant get my head around it.

Who do you lose from the squad to sign the new person.. we don’t seem to have been able to sell/shift Zinchenko, Garcia , anyone else currently in squad.

There's time for some deadline day moves yet. Maybe we can get rid of both of them on some club in a 2 for 1 deal!

Haven’t heard with us linked with any striker to sign on the dotted line today and it seems we’re just going to muddle through with what we have until Aguero and/or Jesus return. When Aguero returns he’s going to need time to get up to speed and recapture that match sharpness, Jesus hasn’t been out for long and does have football under his belt already this season, but how long before he returns fully fit ?

It may only be for a short time but it’s obvious we need a proper front man rather than trying to persevere with Mahrez, Sterling, etc, and taking them out of the positions they‘re most effective.

Ollie Watkins looked decent yesterday. Certainly offered more movement than what we currently have with Sergio and Jesus injured.

We do but can’t or won’t pay big in this window. Short term solution while a longer term fix is identified
Can't, for 2 reasons a big name striker gives us too many strikers one of the 3 would be let out of the matchday squad, that's not happening. Second reason we are going into a season without fans it will hit us too.
There is also the distinct possibility we know who we want to buy to replace Aguero next summer and the player isn't available this summer, we won't want to gum up the squad with a short term stop gap.

That’s not right. Sterling’s movement is fantastic & gets into numerous goal scoring positions every game. The issue is he doesn’t put enough of them away. He’s better than he was but miles away from being clinical. His mental strength is what Pep loves though - he never let’s the misses bother him & keeps going.

Honestly though, if say we’d pulled in a striker from the Championship there’d be fan riots & Txiki wouldn’t be safe on the streets. Unless they’re 16, 17, 18 we’d not bring someone in from there. Not saying it’s right it’s just impossible.
