New v Old supporters

think its a MANCUNIAN thing anyway.

Ive nothing against out of town fans or people at all to be honest but being from manchester i do sometimes feel superior to people out in the sticks, dunno if its just me or others are like that but cant really help it.

Know what you mean Tony... for me Benchill is out in the sticks..
Ask most people how many live in Manchester (and I mean Manchester not the suburbs) and see what they come up with......the worst is if you meet someone new.. you know for the first time say on holiday.. where you from you ask …Manchester they say oh what part…Burnley or Bolton or Oldham Ashton…every fucking where but Manchester

Im 50 this month and have been going since 1966 do i consider myself a bigger Blue than somebody who has just started going do i fuck. I consider myself lucky that i was around in the 60s and 70s and have actually seen us win stuff and hopefull all the newbies will see us win stuff again in the not to distant future.

Ps. Im not from Manchester either just the other side of the M67 int thills in Glossop

I don't see people who follow this club for reasons such as player obsession as "fans of the club"
They are temporary supporters

if say Dzeko left tomorrow all these Bosnian people on here and on facebook will leave instantly.

.

Firstly I would like to say hello to all ManCity fans on this forum and I promise I'm not here to wind any of you up.

Now, @SteSteez is absolutely right regarding Bosnian 'support' of ManCity...at beginning of current season there was not one ManCity supporter in Bosnia, or if there were any they're probably some English people working over here...last month, when Dzeko signed for your club, suddenly there were ManCity fans everywhere, but that support is shallow and is all concentrated on Dzeko - simple example, Tevez seems to be some kind of hate figure in Bosnia right now, because "he does not want to pass ball to our Dzeko", :)))) so he's getting all kind of abuse :)...question is, would true blue fans behave like that? Of course not.

Let me be clear, the only English club truly supported in Bosnia is Arsenal, these guys are running website dedicated to AFC and are recognized as Arsenals official supporters club for B&H and as far as I know they are still first and only supporters club of any English football club in Bosnia.

So what I'm trying to say is this: as long as Dzeko is actively involved with ManCity, tons of Bosnians will 'support' your club, buy (Dzeko) shirts and (Dzeko related) merchandise, but moment he leaves, they'll leave too.

Just an honest opinion, that's all.

Good luck for rest of season and hope you knock Scum out in fight for 4th spot, and also good luck on saturday against ManUre.

AFC!

How can Benchill be out in the sticks? last time I checked Benchill was in wythenshawe which is by far the largest area of manchester.

I will be honest and say i am a Johnny come lately.

As i am from Scotland never really followed a team but because City have money and the chance of being big i supported them & have been to a couple games (spending a coupe 100 pounds in the process)

not having a go, but have you not got a local team to follow?

its a free world but your following a club for all the wrong reasons.

You could say Colin Bell joined city from Bury "for all the wrong reasons" why didn,t he just stay in the North East, where he was born and play for his local team? Local this ,local that-load of crap. i know loads of blues whose nearest club is bury /bolton/ etc-no-one ever questions their decision making .
