Newcastle (a) post match thread

I am honestly trying not to spend too much time on the forum, sport sites, or watching NBCSN, Sky, BBC, etc. for the next few days as it will only intensify my disappointment and frustration. There’s always an inquest after a loss like this (especially for this one, given the Liverpool situation and the previous Leicester and Palace losses) and everyone is cross with everyone on here and the media like to twist the knife.

The next few days will undoubtly see a lot of blue-on-blue handbags that I don’t want to be a part of.
Yap yap yap. I don’t give a shit! My dad’s bigger than yours pal! ;0)

Meaning a few will find their position filled by someone who can implement the managers instructions and show a bit more fight and desire, not to mention concentration. A few are still dining out on last season's success and Pep has a reputation of being ruthless once such happens

Who do you have in mind? With the notable exception of a few games, we’ve been having a great season by historic standards. I can think of some Centurions who’ve had injury or a spell of poor form. I can think of fewer who serially can’t be arsed.

I am actually still confused what I watched last night. How can I still be gutted ? Wtf went wrong. Been depressed all day.

Wonder how the players feel today

I wouldn't say it's been a great season. The cup draws have been kind to us so far but fair play we have progressed well. In the league, aside from a few exceptions we have looked hit and miss. Maybe this is comparing us to last years levels which would have been hard to match in fairness.

Who do I have in mind? We need two full backs.....again....in my opinion. We can't have Mendy always in the treatment room and Walkers form has been shocking. Midfield is a worry too, Fernandinho and D.Silva are looking like time is catching up with them. The former I am not surprised as he gets run into the ground. We need an experienced leader, an old head at the back to take Kompany place and lift the team on nights like last night. I also think we need another striker and I would happily part exchange Mahrez to get one in. Top, top teams don't stand still and we need to rectify these problems sooner rather than later.

I’ve got a really bad feeling that if we don’t stop this rot, Spurs will overtake us.
Horrid to think we could be so far behind after last season.
Cant believe we haven’t even got players on our radar for this transfer window.

Fernandinho performances this season has shown age is not catching up with him as some seem to think.
David as well was playing as well as ever until he got injured against Chelsea.Though I must admit I'm beginning to worry a little bit about him since them.

Both were terrible when they came on
But Gundogan was so bad it was almost comical
You never watched Dave & Fernandinio last night???
They were awfull, looked sluggish gave ball after ball away no better than the subs.

Dave has to be on the bench & come on to keep the game ticking over.

Got to start looking at Bernardo as 1st choice now.
Jesus to start on Sunday

We have big problems at RB & LB.

Big problem in Peps 1st year got away with it last year but this season shite.
LB has been a disaster & is most important position to fill.
Cheaper now to buy British, the Mark up on These young players abroad is pricing City well out of any race.
I wouldn't be surprised if we but Chillwell & Rice 90-100m

Go abroad for those 2 positions your talking 120-30m

Walker was good last season, but Danilo didn't offer any alternative IMO. He has stepped up now when needed but the left back spot has been a nightmare again.

Ah but you've dodged my question. You were talking about people dining out on last season's success and not showing fight and desire. I asked who you had in mind. Instead you've listed three players, who are ageing but strongly motivated, plus another trier who is on a chronically poor streak of form.
