It maybe harsh as he has tried his best and looked good in part but he’s not a professional centre back never mind a top level one - it’s the equivalent of having Bravo in net and the results are similar to Pep’s first season

We can slag the defence all we like but the fact is our strikers aNd midfield are just as culpable. We missed three nailed on, dead cert sitters (jesus, sterling, b.silva).

there goals were good goals but both times they had all the time they wished to pick a spot.

pep needs to change his thought process now. Gundogan is too pedestrian, rodri either no up to speed or not good enough and we miss fern big time in that role.
Mahrez just isnt doing it either.
Mendy... well we all saw it.
Jesus will never be a top draw striker.

it might sound like im moaning ... im really not. Just saying it how i saw/see it.

pep either has to buck up or commit to a contract extension and a re-build

He is a Key/fundamental part of how we play.

He protects the last line of defense by breaking up play.

At the moment our defense is willfully exposed.

Agree but I dont think tha is down to Ferna....it think its down to a bigger problem of the team as a whole......midfield is giving up possession to easy and not creating....attackers are not scoring, creating or pressing......shit show all around and there are some individua players who should never ever be in the starting 11 again (even in their normal positions!)

Mendy needs a stern talking to and a change of mentality ASAP. He really needs extra work in training ground on fitness, passing and crossing...he needs more work on crossing as he was shit today. the only passes completed were nearly all sideways and backward passes....it s not good enough. if he gets one cross in a game ,or at least one chance to cross,it has to be top class or it is simply not good enough. i love mendy but he was shambolic today and the fans deserve more, he should just knuckle down for the next 6 weeks.

The tragic thing is that, if you think back, that is exactly what he was doing when he first arrived in every single game he started in, and he was downright brilliant at it. He wasn't second-guessing himself, he wasn't overthinking it, he was just doing exactly what came naturally to him, as he had been at Monaco. He was fizzing crosses over behind the opposition line of defence and sowing devastation. I really suspect that mentally he's gone. That his native confidence has gone. We've seen it happen before.

No one will be happier than me if he can get back to the player he was at Monaco. I think Mendy's attitude is fine but injuries are cruel. I remember Colin Bell's comeback. You could not have seen a braver player but he was finished and everyone knew it. City need to replace him in January, and I think we will.

Of course it is but it would still be a disappointing return if we are being honest when put into perspective. Having said that there’s an increasing possibility that we won’t win anything at all, especially if we keep playing the way we have been

Yep, it’s disappointing alright. I’m all for having high expectations, just don’t think we can get too greedy.
Looking at what we’ve won over the last 2 years, we can’t honestly expect those sorts of returns year on year, no matter who our manager is.

I’m sure he’ll be grateful for your advice. There are a lot of moaning gits on here as always. For what it’s worth, I think we can still win the league.
