How did NU get to the quarter finals? They must have had some poor opponents!
That match was a training session for us. We could have put the Academy lads on against them and there were only possibly 2 of their players who might have bothered them! The dirty, cheating barcode called Carroll would have been outclassed and outplayed by our Academy! JMHO

They played Oxford United and Rochdale.
Hardly the most testing of opponents.
But they got giddy and thought it was their year until City showed them the error of their ways.

I used to be envious of clubs like Norwich City, Oxford United, Millwall,Birmingham City,Portsmouth and Cardiff City who had all been to Wembley Finals and we couldn't get past a quarter final in those days.
As the BBC said Wembley is now the Etihad of the South.

It was like a training session this evening, and it really should have been more than the two we scored.

A lot of great performances, but to pick out a few: Ilkay was very good as the pivot, as were Merlin, Raheem and Big Ben to his left, Kyle had another great game and Aymeric was excellent as usual, despite being used as a punchbag by that thug Carroll. However, my MotM was Kevin. He ran the game and took his penalty brilliantly.

And now we have the chance to avenge that semifinal defeat three years ago.
