We played well tonight but watching it was a mindnumbing experience, the pundits on the beeb seem to have eased up on us since their chosen ones have won the tirle.
Totally agree.Yes it has, our domination of the first half was ridiculous, but at half time our reward was to be in front because of an act of stupidity from the other team, not because we were great.
I was annoyed that having been so dominant, but we only had a penalty to show for it, its been a common theme all season, that we haven't turned dominance into winning positions, see last Thursday, where we dominated for much of the game, especially in the first half and yet lost.
I agree about mental strength. The only reason Liverpool have won the league is because of mental strength and that's why they won the Champs League last season. That said there is no way Newcastle would have won today even if they had scored the sitter.
And Otamendi tried twice, but for once failed. Then all you have to do is add a poor piece of defending to the mix and then we then have problems.
My eldest was 10 at the time, David has always been his favourite player, he thought Arsenal were disgusting. Nice to know that 7 & 10 year olds have more morals and understanding of how to play football properly than that devious scumbag WengerAnd be ably assisted by the incompetent officials!
It was so fucking blatant, it had our seven year old grandson in tears.
Aside from Walker and Laporte we need a new defence. Maybe another DM as Rhodri doesn't totally convince me and Fern is starting to find trouble against pace. And Otamendi tried twice, but for once failed.
Fern needs replacing soon for sure, but he knows that. Rodri is fine, and Mendy just needs games and fitness for me, so I don't think it's that bad, we do need another quality CB though, even though I think that both the kids will grow into it.Aside from Walker and Laporte we need a new defence. I thought Sterling was mostly shite until the last 30 minutes, and Jesus worked his arse off whilst not getting much service from his team mates.Sterling was top drawer today. Jesus is looking bereft of confidence.
