Newcastle (A) | Post-Match Thread

Fantastic tonight.

With the team selection that Pep made it would be easy to highlight the negatives.

As a half glass full sort of person, there were some great positives.

None more than Torres as the "False Nine" or striker, hopefully his second season in English football will continue to improve at a rate of knots. Fantastic times to be a blue, I just wish I was 25 again.

Nice win, great Torres hat trick the positives. Sterling, Jesus, our defence the negatives, Sterling and Jesus are offering this team absolutely fuck all, been like it for months do they know they're on their way or something?. I honestly can't explain this alarming form, both a million miles away from being regular starters now
Jesus got an assist and worked much better when he switched position with Torres. He can be frustrating though, for sure.
I am staggered at Sterlings drop in performance. Just can’t work out what is going on there.

Plus 95% passing accuracy thats insane

Torres again shows he can make it as a striker and will turn out to be an excellent purchase.

A reserve team literally on the beach until May 29 of course could have scored half a dozen.

A record for away wins on the spin an almost perfect season to date and more to come hopefully this season.

On to Brighton.

Sterling is obviously a confidence player and is shot. After England disaster a few years ago, Iceland I think, Pep called him, told him how much we needed him and totally boosted his confidence. He then delivered a couple of outstanding seasons. I’m not sure Pep feels the same way now and we have so many options, Sterling probably feels the writing is on the wall. No way I’m slagging him though after what he gave us those seasons. Some should hang their heads.
City Raider. Agree with your thoughts And I’m grateful for what he has given us. Just a muse of my own.... on the basis Raz may decide the best route is out with a new adventure overseas and on the basis Barca and Madrid may be preferred destinations for him but they are broke, do any elite overseas teams who he may consider joining have players that we need and who we would consider to be a good swop? Player trading may become the new norm this summer!
