Newcastle (H) post match thread

Difficult to really assess us. We cruise against a poor side
(WBA excepted) but cant see us putting 2 and 3 past a decent side. Yes we all know the defence is top notch now but that wont always get us to where we need to be. That said losing David Silva was like losing 2 players and Sane is also a big miss so no coincidence the forward play is not as it was and the goals are not flowing as they were.

Gundo looked like he had a phone call from Merlin, not just his movement, but also that crunching tackle that he obviously enjoyed.
He seem's to have a renewed confidence about the physical side of the game recently. Last few weeks haven't really seen him bottling challenges like he has done in the past, and is getting stuck in, good to see.

Well they're not and they've already dropped 11pts and were also battered 7-2 off Aston Villa they also drew with the mighty Fulham, they'll drop more pts for sure.

We sit 5th 1pt behind rags 5 behind Liverpool who meet in a couple of weeks.

If being 5pts behind is out of a title challenge we may as well give up now.

Not saying we'll win it but I'd never write off a City side with the quality we have especially being only 5pts behind.

My point regarding Liverpool's points total in the previous seasons is to do with the fact we've dropped significantly offensively. A team that cannot score goals when it matters can't win a title. All those draws highlighted that point for me. I'd love to win the title but without a reliable elite finisher, I just don't see it.

But we're still in a title race despite not being able to score goals, it can only improve and when / if it does i expect us to push hard.

Cancelo was excellent and so was Gundo. Bernie much better on the right and seemed to have an understanding with Cancelo
