for fourteen years newcastle's owner steadfastly refused to communicate with its support in any way, shape or form. the fans forum meetings it was obliged to hold were regularly cancelled and never rescheduled, the ones that did take place were worthless anyway, no dissenting voices were allowed, the members vetted to ensure that, including the banning of the n.u.s.t. on the odd occasion an ashley criticism was voiced it was omitted from the minutes. the closest we came to any sort of communication from the club in nearly a decade and a half was to witness yet another thousand sports direct logos plastered on the foundations, stands and roof (unpaid for) of the ground he'd turned in to a giant advertising hoarding for his fucking tat shop.
I'm aware newcastle were one of the clubs that signed the letter to prompt an investigation in to man city's finances, but rest assured that'll have been by ashley and his little bald lickspittle lee charnley. to suggest any input was made by newcastle's support in this is frankly ludicrous.
and yes I do blame ashley for every single shit, soul destroying and vindictive fuck up he made at MY club throughout his tenure. I hope the fat piece of human scum falls in to a skip full of razor wire. :)
I don't care mate what other clubs support thinks of newcastle, to be honest I haven't got a great deal of love for anybody else other than us anyway, that's the way it's always been and I'm an old bastard now! in fairness, other than a banner at crystal palace I haven't really encountered any hostility since our takeover at a match. online though is an altogether different matter, most obviously from our nearest and dearest. they've racked up over100,000 posts on the smb since october 7th last year about their angst regarding human rights issues. odd really coming from the most insular, bigoted, hovel of a town in the country. the reality is the wearside branch of amnesty international has amassed 150 facebook followers since 2014 and its twitter account 70 since 2017 with no increase in the last 14 months. you could almost be forgiven for thinking that the average sunderland supporter's moral outrage was more about newcastle potentially having a decent football team? finally, the only other clubs support to rival the bile and hatred aimed at us by the mackems is that of liverpools. some of the stuff I've read on rawk is truly fucking headspinning. apparently I'm (or rather we are) a supporter of and condone amongst other things, beheadings, dismemberment, stonings, war atrocities and I have blood soaked hands. for any scouse looking in... we might have had a few pissed up bellends who stuck a tea towel on their head when the takeover went through, the rest of us though are decent, normal people. it's not our job to be the guardians of sporting morality, that was sold a long time ago. our hands are clean, I know of no newcastle supporter that's killed anybody at a football match, liverpool supporters though, most definitely have.

Its early days for Newcastle , wait until you start picking up trophies , the hate for your club will increase ten fold , we used to be a lot of peoples inoffensive second club , galant losers , die hard fans following our club up and down the leagues.
That has all changed now , we now have shit support , didnt support our team when we were shite and are state owned oil club , really hope Eddie Howe brings your club success if its only to put up a big two fingers to the likes of the Dippers and Rags , they have so many self entitled plastic fans , it would be brilliant for Newcastle to be another thorn in their side.
But if you win a Champs league before us you wont have any friends on this forum :)

Newcastle did NOT call for an investigation into City’s finances. That letter signed by the hateful eight plus one called for City to be SUSPENDED WITHOUT COMPLETION of the INVESTIGATION. Due process was not necessary apparently because Liverpool said we cheated and that was good enough. At the time Newcastle signed that letter, they already had notice of CAS’s view that “City cannot hope for a fair hearing while Leterme is in the chair”
Guess who chaired the investigation?
Newcastle’s desire to see City punished without due process on the basis of what CAS called “No evidence” (12 times) is a big black mark on their escutcheon. Let’s hope for their sake they are never falsely accused of something by Liverpool and all the US Redshirts. (Don’t bank on it). If they find themselves in that position, fuck them. Alternatively, they could always apologise or don’t geordies know how to do that?

Who do you want to apologise, and who to? The fans that had nothing to do with it, or the current owners that had nothing to do with it?

I'm not entirely sure what you want the geordies to apologise for?
we had an owner who was that hated he would only turn up at the club to watch his team once in a blue moon (excuse the pun) and then accompanied by a minder the size of a gable end of a house. he'd smirk in open contemp at the supporters of the club, the people of a city he was quite happy to stamp all over the heritage of. he treated club legends like keegan and shearer like shite, likewise a decent man in chris hughton. he treated jonas gutierrez like shite when he had testicular cancer. he ladened the club with debt to himself for his own fucks up in getting us relegated twice by employing a lunatic in joe kinnear (twice) and steve mcclaren, who was by then well down the road of failure.
he employed lee charnley as managing director, a former tea boy who pinned the reserve team sheets up in the changing rooms. other than that, he had two of his mates apparently NOT employed by the club, but never a fucking way from it, keith bishop a second rate pr guru in crisis management for 'c' list nobodies who would bizarrely sit in on pre match conferences and justin barnes an 'abrasive lawyer' who he had a history of falling out with, who somehow, despite having had no previous experience in football, was involved in transfer negotiations, which were usually none.
I'm genuinely not picking a fight with you here mate, on the contrary, I can appreciate your resentment towards the hateful eight. I already resent a couple of clubs who (allegedly) apparently lobbied the premier league very vocally to block newcastle's takeover because it threatened their position at the top table. I'm sure we would've heard more on this at our own CAT case had it ran its course.
but there's no way me as a geordie has any intention of apologising for anything a fat, narcissistic **** like mike ashley has done. or the fucking useless, sycophantic dross he surrounded himself with. :)

The legal entity that signed that letter was NUFC. Successors who own NUFC could make a welcome gesture and set the record straight. So could all the others, come to that.
Our owners have not forgotten. Their relationship with Amanda would be strengthened thereby and NUFC might need them one day in a fight with the PL who will find a reason to hound you.
Its not a big deal to send a letter.
