Newcastle Thread - 2023/24

oh it would be hilarious i thoroughly agree but i do think theyd be like us when we first started in struggling to get people to come there and even if they did what it be worth it, how much would they need to spend to challenge consistently, 500M?

They'd need to either run the club in the right way or spend shitloads of money each year, either way it would football is changing and IMHO real fans will mean less and less, building an amphitheatre for new "Fans" is what's going to happen.

thats what i was saying , the landscape has changed, money really inst everything like it used to be

i thoroughly agree it changes everything, what im saying is that even if you get rid it doesnt necessarily immediately make newcastle an immediate superpower
I don't think personally Newcastle will ever be a super power as it's closer to Scotland than London .you may convince som e B list player to go there but you are not convincing some A list player and more importantly his A list wife to live there .

Newcastle has got a lot going for it, IMHO it shits on the southern cities. Lovely place and they aren't even scared of Horses.

I don’t think we struggled to attract players, though we did have to pay higher salaries than their ability warranted.

But hiring Bobby Manc and that great summer 2010 transfer window - Merlin, Yaya, Aleks and Boateng - was a game changer for us.

its a great place and it wasnt a knock on newcastle, it was more of like in terms of the other teams they would potentially be going up against for recruitment

Its amazing how a £million per week might make the landscape look a little better. There are hundreds of beautiful little villages either 30 min drive from Newcastle centre or 10 - 15 drive to a station on the Carlisle - Newcastle trainline.
