Newcastle United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Watched the game on Australian Sky - and the big talking point was the penalty, Shearer and Given both said it wasn't a pen - so refreshing to hear the game being analysed and commentated upon impartially - why the fuck are British Sky and TNT the way they are, lying red wanker cheerleaders? Implore every Blue on here, fuck off Sky / TNT subscriptions and get IPTV on a Fire Stick instead. £45 for the year and you don't fund the red cartel's PR campaign.

We were OK in patches but not really fully firing. I would have liked to see Foden & Savinho come on earlier than they did.

If Gundo had squared the ball to Erling instead of trying the chip, then we probably would have gone on to win the game, but shit happens.

Great finish from Josko for the goal.

That was a game we obviously didn’t want to lose and is a post Rodri starting point.
Nice game now Tuesday to work on things and set the momentum.
Follow that with a good win v Fulham and we will feel set going into the International break.
Then think of some excuses to keep players was from International teams

Why are you deflecting? Thats not what I said.
Kyle Walker is our players captain.
For the second time in as many games in the PL he has cost us goals for his poor defending ability.
Not for creating chances or helping scoring goals for the team.
I don’t want to be here criticising him but there is something about his game at the moment and it’s costing the team goals and it needs fixing.
It’s like his head just turns off in moments or he still thinks he has that extra edge on players so he gives them too much room and I personally think that extra yard has gone.
Not deflecting at all

Overall Kyle has done better than what you think has happened.

It's more like you are blaming him for everything that has gone wrong

Sorry

It’s a result you can only really evaluate after our competitors play later on…could prove to be a decent point.

I think Pep needs to try and figure out the parked bus though. Arsenal last week and these this with a low block which always seems really effective against us…..

Pep’s constantly trying to combat low blocks. The problem is that when top level teams employ them, it’s very hard to break them down. Teams do it because City put the fear of Pep into them.

City have to be patient and keep moving the ball (and it can’t all be rapid passing) and try to exploit when the opponent leaves a gap (small or otherwise). And sometimes, its about a bit of individual magic and having players that can deliver that, which we do.
