Newcastle United (A) - Post-Match Thread

That first goal was absolute comedy gold - from the warm-up, when the goalie wittily knocked it out of play for a corner, to the devastiting "After you Claude..." routine between him and the defender, when they left it on a plate for Diaz to head in.
Followed a bit later by the Ederson slide into the centre forward and upend him gag, as Cancelo slalomed away from the 2 of them, and then - for his goal - he basically sat 2 of them down, then another 2 parted the curtain to let his thunderbastard ripple the net. As fantastic as it was hilarious.
Mahrez then applied his Algerian math's expertise in logarithms or something to calculate to the Nth degree how to stay onside as he beautifully volleyed home the third, just to rile up the locals with a VAR decision which went in our favour AGAIN (Take note all you conspiracy theorists).
Then, after spending most of the 2nd half reliving his worst days of the past 5 months, Sterling sprints in as if the clock had been turned back to 2017/18 to slot home a beautiful move and brilliance on the ball by Jesus, working his daily miracle.
And then to cap it all - we get a ton of sour grapes from Klopp and Tuchel " The ref...Cane sending off... penalty this; penalty that; covid; everything should be called off; null and void - City can't go clear before Christmas!?"
Yes they can boys. 3 points clear of 2nd; 6 points clear of 3rd. Both have to come to the Etihad within a month - bring it on!

Just wanna say thanks to the city fans who made me son (19) piss himself laughing at the chants today, 0-4 and he’s happy as a pig in shite older members will know what this meant to us. Some great times at Maine road 0-0 around 87? Dear me how bad was that.2-1 city around 94 was in with the home fans and had a scream until the bus left without us, moss side on a Saturday teatime , great days .do them lads ya proper footy fans

Horrible journey up there, heavy fog and traffic. Parked in nearby multi story £3… bargain. Got to the entrance for the disabled/lift, there were 3 of us, no covid checks and unbelievably no ticket checks on any of us. They just opened a gate, let us in and showed us to the lift. Needn’t have bothered buying a ticket!

The match played out as I expected, Newcastle huffed and puffed but didn’t really threaten, we bossed the first half without really getting out of 2nd gear; and a bit sloppy at times. Much better 2nd half and we deservedly ran out 4-0 winners. Jesus had a great assist, but apart from that was below par… he missed two sitters (headers), but worked hard. Newcastle are in big trouble… “All that money and you’re going down” taunted the blues in the Gods. All in all a good day with the pretenders both dropping points.

Same as you mate. We used the disabled entrance /lift because my lad has a football injury and is in a wheelchair. I got covid checked but not my match tickets.
