I can see Pep using more players from the youth setup than people are saying in their lines ups, I think the EDS lads play tonight so I don't see many from there playing tomorrow, Pep is not a risk-taker and the first-team squad is thin and 2 or 3 injured or not ready, The lineup tomorrow could be a big shock and we could just roll over and get it out of the way,

We could name our Best 11 tomorrow and still lose, Newcastle away is probably one of the hardest games this season and they will be hungry for success and want every chance to win silverware this season
Newcastle will be focusing on the CL the last thing they want is a tough game tomorrow.

I agree about the celebrating, but more chance of home crowd influencing the decisions though! Kavanagh is not the best referee.

Weather forecast (BBC and Met Office) is currently approximately 40mph winds from 8pm Wednesday in Newcastle, yellow weather warning, Storm Agnes!
Looks like it's blowing in from the SE so it'll be a bit breezy for us Blues up at the top of the Leazes stand !

I don’t recall ever seeing Pep openly admit other games are more important than the next one, as he has said today in his press conference. Normally, he says “the most important is the next one” or something like that. So all in all, this is about as close as we are going to get to throwing a fixture under Pep imo. Even sending that message to the players that this game is not very important, is going to encourage a pretty sub-par performance. It absolutely isn’t important, however he usually doesn’t say that publically. I haven’t checked the odds, but lump on Newcastle.

This game ain't the problem it's if we win and it's the next game that's the big problem

I said to my friend who's into betting a few days ago that he should chuck big money on a Newcastle victory.

I'm going up there with my boys but i already accept it will be a defeat and that won't be a problem.

Much as I hate City losing in any competition, if we can’t field anything but a short handed youth team should we get to the quarter finals it may be as well to bow out now.
