The Scousers have changed the name of their Newcastle thread to...

Topic: NUFC - Continue Operation Destroy & Exit!

The mindset of these entitled wastrels is astounding, thread littered with murdering accusations, irony is lost on them.

With our owner have strategic alliance with Saudis in Middle East, surely we are not at odds with each other in background?

I hope that was case, because we need allies not a friends mind you. But an allies against cartel in football that seemingly trying to crush us ever since we rise from bottom.

Every market needs to be regulated in one way or another. I don't know if FFP was the right or fair way to do that, but the idea that transfer fees and wages can just keep ballooning without measures to control it is just bonkers to me.
Agreed but it is impossible to take any organisation seriously if they have rules which prevent investment but allow debts to run out of control. Much as I am enjoying it as a City fan, what the Glazers have done at United is scandalous. They have not invested any of their own money nor have they done anything for the local community yet they have been feted by the PL for years and were even allowed to vet the appointment of Richard Masters. That is just a corrupt system as far as I am concerned and if big money from our owner and the Saudis helps to destroy that system then I am all for it.

Not sure. A wage cap of some sorts maybe, then introduce some kind of luxury tax as they have in American sports. Introduce some kind of penalty if clubs go over the percentage they're allowed to allocate to wages that season. I don't know. I'm no expert in finance regulations. I just think something has to give.
The luxury tax is a decent concept as long as the money is ringfenced for grassroot sports or local community investment and is not siphoned into the back pockets of the crooks at UEFA. I don't think wage caps ever work properly because they are so easily circumvented.

So 3 years Everton have spent what is it 400m? And Newcastle are at a lower level and once you spend that money if turnover isn’t spring 400m plus your in the shit with ffp like Everton were this summer just look who they got a loan and a 1.5m player! There are just to many rich owners in the league for them to make it in the next 5 years maybe 10 years if everything goes to plan.

Nice to see someone else actually understands it.

My thoughts are Newcastle fans are proper bell ends. Years they have said how we are everything wrong with modern football. Oil club etc etc. Now they have rubbed the genie lamp and their morals seem to have vanished !
I say fuk them. Hope they get relegated and their owners die doing keepie uppies with Michael Knighton.

It's intriguing but something seems to have made the PL shit their pants.

Better.
Perhaps there is some dirt to come out on the Red clubs which the PL are nervous about or perhaps they just realised it would be absurd to reject investment from the Saudis who are one of the biggest existing investors in the UK and are also our strongest allies in the conflict against Islamic terrorism and Russian expansionism. Without investment from China and the Middle East the UK economy (certainly in London) would collapse. We can't afford to be too picky about who we choose as friends these days.

Every club feeling anxious about FFP, should move to Scotand. Rangers havent complied for ten years, of operating with a loss funded by soft loans and nothing happens to them. You might need to change your name to Rangers though. If you go into a meeting with the SFA, just belt out the Sash and you will be fine.

Might as well be Rangers.

You need to start at that level who are happy to come for the money to get the club into a position of challenging for trophies before the top class players will come.

i don't think you get that time anymore and the gap between the top 4 and top 6 is set in stone and would take some spending and time to make the jump from where newcastle are at right now. also FFP was not the case when the city owners started so we had a free run at it before the rules changed

the trouble i see with newcastle is the transfer window and prices they are going to have to pay for players
we are talking over £60million for bang average players and £100million for everybody english ?
so its going to add up pretty quick and like i said what do newcastle want run of the mill players to build a team or greedy so called superstar players for a statement
